  1. Twins Daily is certainly carrying the water for Twins ownership today. This and Nick’s article should solidify your press passes working next year at Spring Training. We’ve seen 2 examples that caused Jim Pohlad to act and make a change in the FO. The total system failure in 2016, and Billy Smith spending on a top 10 MLB payroll missing the playoffs. Falvey and Levine bumped up the payroll in 2022 to $145 million. We’re on pace to finish below .500, with Target Field half empty all season. We will see if losing money sparks some urgency to make a change… If the Twins are really going to keep status quo, next year is going to be more of the same. Half filled Target Field and casual fans checking out of another season.
  2. We dodged a major bullet not hiring Nathaniel Hackett as HC. That was the most moronic 2 minute drill I’ve ever seen from Denver. Choosing a 64 yard FG over letting their $250 million QB try to win it? Crazy.
  3. First time it cratered was the mid-June series with Cleveland when Pagan blew multiple games. Then it rose at the trade deadline. And cratered to an all time low this week.
  4. This is a great point. Attendance numbers are unlikely to get any better next year as well. If anything is going to cause urgency with the Pohlads, it’s losing money.
  5. ZaDarius Smith and Danielle Hunter should have a field day today against GB. Both of their starting tackles are out, as well as their #1 in Lazard. If we can’t generate a TON of pressure today, I’ll be very concerned about our defense.
  6. All of the banked wins from April through the end of May are gone. May 25th was the first time the Twins were 10 games over .500. They’ve been performing like a 90 loss team since that date.
  7. I would hand a blank check to Yankees pitching coach Matt Blake. Let him run the pitching program for the organization. His contract expires at the end of the season.
  8. Must have been hit hard enough to get by the infield. Yep, that works for me to get more players on base.
  9. The next step is ensuring these new rules are actually enforced by the umpires. I don’t care if it takes a 5th umpire in the stadium who will only look at the pitch clock. It needs to be done.
  10. Love it. This is an excellent step in the right direction for baseball. Extreme shifts needed to go away and pace of play will be noticeably better with the pitch clock.
  11. Is this game recap available in commemorative print, PDF, or NFT? Seeing the Twins finish the game with more runs than the Yankees is a rare sight to behold.
  12. We won 1 more game than I thought we would at Yankee Stadium. It wasn’t easy or pretty. But a win is a win.
  13. Robo umps can’t happen soon enough. Thielbar was gifted 2 outside pitches as strikes.
  14. We’ve reached the time of year where NFL gets the big screen, and the Twins get the commercial break time.
  15. I’m beginning to think the game thread starter can’t tell time. It’s well past 6:05 ET and no game yet.
  16. I’m all for these changes. The pitch clock will become unnoticeable in no time for players and the fans. Eliminating the extreme shifts should help generate more hits and more action. This is all positive.
  17. Billy Hamilton starting in LF. Oh boy! The Twins are also running a buy one, get one free ticket promo the rest of the season.
  18. If Hunter and Z Smith are healthy and starting 15+ games, I think 11 wins are possible. If I had to bet money on it today, I’d say 8-9 wins. Still don’t have much faith in the defense. The talent is due for a sharp decline (Harrison, Pat Peterson, Kendricks) or has major injury concerns (Hunter and Z Smith).
