    Statement week. Need to see 5 wins at a bare minimum. The Yankees are right around the corner, and we are all very aware how the Twins perform against division leaders this year.

    Rocco likely remains with the team for the 2023 season. I just don’t think there’s any urgency to make a change from ownership. It doesn’t look like he’s going to be the type of manager to set players up in situations where they over perform. Falvey and Levine’s seat should be hotter than Baldelli.

    Duran especially. Made no sense to pitch him 1 inning only, that early in the game. Now our top 3 late inning arms will either be unavailable or forced to pitch back to back games tonight.

    I’m at this point now. It’s over. We’ll have plenty of time to talk about 2023 when the season is officially over. My main concern right now is how close are we to actually winning a playoff series? How many of the long term core players are actual solutions for the team?

    21 straight quality starts for Framber Valdez. I can’t validate it but I’m willing to bet the Twins as a team doesn’t have 21 quality starts.

    Other teams will be insane to pay him more than $35 million AAV after the season he is having here. If all he wants is the most guaranteed money possible, good luck to him.

    This offseason I think we have to ask the tough questions whether the long term core players will really help this team win a playoff game, let alone a series. A perfect example where analytics is going too far… If you would have told me in March Carlos Correa has less than 40 RBI heading into September, I’d say he’s been hurt since early June. And people are 100% convinced he’ll opt out and receive more money. That’s insane.
