Apparently Eddie didn't actually break any rules on that bunt. Cora says he's sorry for whining https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/red-sox/heres-rule-had-alex-cora-hopping-mad-until-he-realized-umpires-hadnt-gotten-it-wrong-after
I have to disagree. I'm disagreeing with the thought. Buck should have an opportunity to win the MVP. He's definitely putting up MVP-level stats. However he won't win the AL MVP because of Mike Trout. Someone would have to have a season for the ages to knock Trout off that throne. I feel like the voters are making up for those years he finished second when he really was the best.
This just hit the wire. Apparently Carlos Carrasco has been diagnosed with some sort of blood condition. Hopefully he gets the medical care he needs to get back on the field. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/26904907/carrasco-blood-condition-indefinitely
Possibly. I never got to see a Twins game at the metrodome (grew up in NC). Caught Vikings games there twice when visiting, which was fun, but I'm not really certain how the park played for baseball
This may just be me conflating my wishes into reality but for some reason I was under the impression that if the ball hit the roof in the trop it was considered a dead ball. Would it have been a hit if Adames didn't catch it?
You, sir, are a codger after my own heart. The nats going to sell mode has me all a-flutter. Why stop at Scherzer? See what they want for Doolittle and Strasburg. Then take the deal we like the most.
Every team should always have two or three guys who are untouchable. If you're in the habit of trading your best prospects it had better be for more than just an ace on an expiring contract for the stretch run. I don't care how good the "ace" is. If you're packaging Royce Lewis in a deal, you'd better be getting a guy like Scherzer or prime Clayton Kershaw with several years left on their deal. Otherwise you end up where the tigers are right now. I don't want to be where the tigers are right now.
Honestly it all depends on what the Giants are trying to do. Are they reloading or rebuilding? There are going to be two different types of players involved in those deals. Rebuild will probably have younger guys where a reload has guys closer to the bigs. The good news is there seems to be a pretty solid relationship between our FO and theirs following the Austin and Reed deals. What a MadBum/Smith trade to the Twins looks like I wouldn't really hazard a guess. Also I'm really not aware enough of what they giants organizational need is for players. Where is their depth thin and the like. I feel that would have a major impact on who we would be hypothetically sending back
