  1. Anybody else excited that it’s Garver who’s come through with the big hits the last two nights?
  2. Remember we dropped the Friday night game to the White Sox last week. Then went on a 5 game win streak. Two of which came against a very good Cards team in their park. The amount of angst I'm feeling over last nights game is nada. Yeah we lost but wasn't like we got dominated. We were in the game throughout, made a comeback but it fell short. Accept it for what it is, a night that the ball just didn't fall our way.
  3. The umps reaction is quite honestly the greatest thing I've ever seen
  4. Also not sure what Cutch's contract situation is like. I believe he's playing on the last deal he signed with Pittsburgh, and there may be a no trade clause in their somewhere
  5. From the post: "Their offense has scuffled even with Jose Ramirez and Francisco Lindor hitting well. Jason Kipnis, who hasn't been a significantly above-average hitter since 2015, sports an OPS 90 points lower than Logan Morrison's" If you're an Indians fan, this should scare the living daylights out of you
  6. correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Ian Kinsler also on the angels? That's someone else we can never get out.
  7. I want him to make it to the Show just for the absolute anarchy his name is going to cause other teams' radio and tv talent. It's going to take them months to get the pronunciation right. And it's going to be glorious.
  8. I don't know what's gotten in to him but whatever he's been having for breakfast he needs to start sharing it with Lance Lynn
  9. Why they pitched to Rosie in that situation I'll never understand
  10. At this point, I'd wager he's getting them free. For the publicity if nothing else. And if he's not he needs a new agent
  11. Discuss all you want about what "could have been" if they would have selected Prior, I for one, am really glad they went with Joe.
  12. If he was a Yankee they would've had a national watch party during his at bats. Cutting into other games' coverage so they could show you his 2000th hit. Or they just would've made the game nationally televised. Also, thank god he never did become a Yankee. I would feel awful having to force myself to hate Joe. I mean I would've done it, but I wouldn't have liked it.
  13. Tell this to the Astros. They just won a World Series where the only thing their first baseman was effective at was using a racial slur
  14. Especially if he ends up getting a gold glove at 1st. That should quiet the "but he changed positions" crowd.
  15. Only breaks out the chocolate when he's feeling reckless. Otherwise he's very much a 2% man
  16. Instructions: Step 1: Open mouth. Step 2: Insert foot Step 3: Try to Dance Thanks for the correction.
  17. Really can't wait for it to warm up. All these walks due to lack of command are KILLING me. Also, fun little fact, Robbie Grossman got his first hit tonight... In his 10th AB of the season. Sometimes life is just too funny. Overall, solid win.
  18. It's amazing what happens to a pitcher's stats when he's not playing in front of a terrible defense. Detroit absolutely wasted his last couple of years there. I know there were injuries involved but still. All we kept hearing out of Detroit was, "there are some concerns about lost velocity". I distinctly remember him hitting at least 96 at one point last night.
  19. Anybody remember this time 2 years ago when we were 0-9? God we were awful. I’m cool with 4-4 through through April 10th
  20. I would actually argue that Verlander had pin point control. He had legit issues last night finding the plate but between getting ace pitcher calls on the outside of the plate, making good pitches when needed (which is what a *first ballot Hall of Famer does) and some poor chases by the twins, he ended up looking pretty good. I would say that when it came to the contact that was induced, Lynn actually gave up fewer hard hits. This game legit came down to two plays that got houston their two runs. Tonight the shoe may end up on the other foot. That's why baseball is as amazing a game as it is.
