  1. Do you have any evidence for that statement? Because if not, that just seems like a case of sour grapes.
  2. I'll be happy if he just becomes a good glove, 400 obp and maybe 10-15 homers a year, second baseman.
  3. I just want us to treat the Yankee's like we treated the Orioles this season. So lots of bombas and a couple of laughers, then "On to Cincinnati"
  4. I'm sorry, there's no way that Nelly's bomb against the Nats was only 460ft. That would have left the park in a couple of places around the league. (Also, really enjoyed the quiet "Oh my..." from whoever else was in the booth with Dick when they saw where it was going to land)
  5. I think the Stros were the favorite before the Greinke trade, this just solidified their standing. We are good enough to play with anyone as long as we don't beat ourselves.
  6. Well this has been underwhelming. My only thought is that the FO didn't watch the Yankee's series. Maybe they were on vacation.
  7. The problem is that there seems to be no decision on whether they are buyers or sellers. You trade prospects during the offseason for Diaz/Cano. That would indicate that you are in "win now mode". For the last month you're in sell mode as you're actively looking to move Syndergaard, Wheeler and Diaz. Then you turn around and grab Stroman for prospects. Then you flip Vargas. Taken in a vacuum all these moves make sense. But they're not in a vacuum. One leads to another and you've got a team flipping back and forth between selling and buying. THEN you've got players and coaches going after reporters, you've already fired one of your coaches and your manager is probably out at the end of the year. Now maybe I'm reading too much into it but there definitely doesn't seem to be a current strategy to make the Mets organization better. As someone posted earlier, another exec has compared their organizational strategy to "a kindergarten student finger painting". You can disagree with that characterization if you want, but I feel pretty comfortable with stating that I'm not sure they have a plan. Also don't know why you brought the buxton thing up. I've never mentioned it.
  8. Honestly this would all be a heck of a lot easier if we could assume that the Mets are making these moves because they have a plan. I have to say that I'm not too confident that they actually know what they are doing.
  9. Sometimes guys are great positional coaches because it allows them to specialize on one facet of the game but make them the head honcho and they can't focus on what they're really good at. Kinda like in the NFL. You can have a guy who's a great defensive coordinator but he's not very successful as a head coach. Then he goes back to being a D.C. and he's great again (ex. Wade Phillips)
  10. I really hope this is sarcasm because there is no way in h*ll I'm packaging garver for anyone. We may be sitting on one of the best offensive catchers in the league who has also improved defensively. You don't trade that.
  11. Yeah if I was Cleveland's reliever (think it was Goody) I'd be putting in a protest to the official scorer that those two runs should count as unearned. That was a pretty routine play and he just screwed the pooch
  12. I mean... if Cleveland wants to send a position player to the mound to start a game who are we to stop them?
  13. Honestly I feel you could make an argument that both Taylor and Ryne Harper should be in Cleveland. Taylor was definitely snubbed.
  14. Apparently Carlos Carrasco has been diagnosed with leukemia. While the Indians and MLB haven't made an official announcement, he gave an interview in the DR. https://sports.yahoo.com/carlos-carrasco-diagnosed-leukemia-103854235.html This is bigger than baseball. Hopefully he can get the treatment he needs.
  15. This just further enhances the mind-boggling performance that Trout makes seem routine. He's good.
