Looking at the numbers looks like Rooker and Kirilloff had nearly identical months. Both look like fantastic prospects with ceilings somewhere in outer space. The question I have about Rooker, will he join the Twins this September? And what a month for Arraez. He is what, a year or year and a half away?

Of the top six, Seth, who has the highest ceiling? Are any of these potentially #1 or #2 starters? I would think Balazovic may be. But that is based on a couple early starts where he was as good as anyone could hope for. Should he continue pitching like he has for the rest of the year, I would think he would be jumping up the rankings.

Kirilloff in 2016, Rooker last year and Larnach this year. That trio all have potential to be middle of the order big league hitters. Will be interesting to see which of the three actually makes it to an elite level, if any. And all look to be corner outfielders, although Rooker could also be at first base. Sounds like Larnach should sign by mid-week giving the Twins a few days to try to get that high school third baseman's name on the dotted line.

Interesting that none of the five from this group were previously ranked. Personally like De La Torre and expect him to climb this ladder over the next few years.

Another nice outing for Jax. Seems like he is getting stronger every time out. After struggling a bit last year, Balazovic is starting to look like he may be something special. Could the Twins be so fortunate as to have Graterol and Balazovic both step into the rotation by the end of 2020 or start of 2021? There hasn't been much mention here about the DSL Twins. Yet, they are having a great season. After 25 games, they are 17-8 and only a game behind the first place Cardinals Blue squad. The team is led by three young men from Venezuela. Two of their top three hitters are catchers, 19-year old Jeferson Morales (.377 average) and 18-year old Victor Heredia (.300 average). Their top pitcher is Anthony Escobar who has a 1.82 ERA and 0.64 WHIP. Considering he is only 17, Escobar could be someone we are going to hear a lot of in the coming years. It is the first year of professional ball for both Morales and Escobar.

Have been excited about Moran for over a year. Hopefully, he can move up the ladder quickly and be part of a future bullpen for the Twins. If the Twins are going to win a World Series early in the 2020's, they are going to need three top short relievers to pitch from the 7th inning on. I doubt those pitchers are on the current team. So they are either going to have to come from free agency, trades or the current minor league system. Are any, or all three of those relievers pitching down on the farm today? Could any of this month's top 8 be one of them? Expect we are going to have to wait to see, but am curious about your thoughts, Seth.

Thanks Seth, and good morning! Two things stood out to me as I read this. One, is great seeing Whitefield back on the field at Fort Myers. Also noticed that De la Torre is off to a great start with his bat early in the season. And doing so at Elizabethton while still only 18 years old. We all know his defense plays, if the bat comes along he could be a very exciting prospect at shortstop.

Yes, I remember he hit like this last month almost the entire year at C.R. Or at least it seems like he did. I didn't recall anyone hitting .500 for ten games, but I also don't check that very often. Don't know if he will be a hit for the Twins, but would sure like to see him have a chance sometime next year.

The Twins have played 77 games. Assuming they get all three in versus the Cubs this weekend, that's the 80 games he was suspended. So Monday at Milwaukee (July 2) would be the first game he could be activated, again assuming there aren't any rainouts this weekend.

And what a night for the bats. Arraez goes 3 for 4 with 2 walks, Rooker hits 2 home runs plus a double, and Severino gets 4 hits...and none are hitter of the day. Not saying I disagree with your choice, Cody, just that's a lot of hitting from some exciting prospects. Its only been five games (.500 average), but Severino looks to be a very good prospect. Thanks to Atlanta for cheating! And Arraez is hitting .500 average in his last ten games (46 at bats). I don't recall ever seeing that.

I don't have a problem with sending Romero back to AAA. He struggled through several of his last starts. Let him go back to Rochester where there is less pressure and hopefully a few less innings. Then bring him back in September or at the end of July if Santana or Lynn is traded.

Interesting read, Seth, thanks! Expect the timing of that call and where he plays once he gets here will depend on what the Twins do with Dozier next month, if anything. Good to see that he is seeing some time at second base, unlike a few years ago when Polanco was called up and had seen almost zero innings at shortstop.

Looked at the last ten games for Arraez. He has more games with at least 4 hits (3), than he does games with no hits (2). With only three days left this month, his average is .442. Does this kid stay at Fort Myers all year? Took a longer look at another name we often see having good results, Jovani Moran. Found it interesting to see that all of his last ten games have ranged between 2.0 and 3.0 innings. Are we seeing more of this throughout the organization? Could this be another change being implemented by the new regime? And add me to the list of those excited to see Graterol moving up!

Thanks Steve. Great seeing Polanco AND Sano both have two hit, two walk games. Maybe Polanco can shake off the rust quickly. Was last night an indication that Sano has bottomed out and is starting his way back. Unfortunately, the top three at the Fort, Arraez, Kirilloff and Rortvedt had only one hit between them. And another great night for Thorpe. I am of the opinion that he may be neck and neck with Graterol for the pitching prospect with the highest ceiling. Also good seeing Benninghoff back on the mound, even though the results were so-so.

Thorpe followed his dominant performance last time out with a nice outing this morning. Pitched 5.2 innings with 7 K's, 4 hits, 1 walk and 1 run. Was pulled after two outs in the 6th after he crossed the 90 pitch threshold. Seth, do you know if all pitchers are still on a 90 pitch count, or is this specific to Thorpe?

Really like how Miranda's season has been going. After a very cold start, May was much better with June better than May. And he won't turn 20 until later this week. This kid probably is the best 3B prospect in the organization. Lets hope he keeps getting better every step of the way. Lots to like when looking at Sammons' numbers. The only negative I see is that his strikeouts are down a bit from last year at Cedar Rapids, although that wasn't all that many innings. The other knock is that at 23, he is a bit old. Assuming he came out of college last year as a senior. For those of you who have seen him, does he have the stuff to be a potential big leaguer? Or is it likely that his ceiling is more of another AAAA starter? Stewart's results were better last night, although he still had a 1.50 WHIP. I guess baby steps are good.

Was Polanco in the lineup for Rochester, Cody? If so, getting on the field is the first step towards his return. And it seems we have a couple new young outfielders to start following. This Pearson kid seems to be a solid prospect. I know they picked him up this winter, was it the $$$/Ohtani trade with the Angels? And Keirsey appears to be a good find in this year's draft. May prove to be worth going over slot to get him signed. Whenever Graterol is on the hump has to be exciting for folks down in C.R. Gotta keep him healthy and get him some innings so he can build towards joining our rotation by 2020.

Not certain how Vargas is defensively in the outfield?

Interesting night down on the farm, Seth. What the h..... is wrong with Elizabethton? Is it time to fire their hitting coach? (that was sarcastic, folks!) Is Slegers on track to be back for the next time it would have been Romero's turn? Imagine by then they should be convinced that Belisle isn't the answer. And would the Twins be better off with Vargas as their DH, rather than Morrison? His average isn't great at Rochester, but I expect he would be more motivated if still with the Twins. Appears there are three guys at Fort Myers worth checking on every morning, Arraez, Kirilloff and Rortvedt. Gotta believe all three will be with the Twins some day. And great seeing Jax rack up quality starts, although only one strikeout was a bit odd. Between Kirilloff and Rooker, we should have another outfielder and first baseman/DH within the next year, year and a half. And there is a lot to like with both Balazovic and Enlow. Like how they are piggy backing them together to limit their innings.

Looks like they signed Sands for $600,000, or $269.600 over slot. That puts them about $225,000 over their pool. They still need to sign Larnach and Mack to fill out their top 9 (ten rounds). Expect they will wait to sign Mack until they get Larnach signed and are certain of the dollar savings, if any. They can then work on Mack and if there are dollars left over, focus on their #11 pick or others further down the list. I understand they also have signed the pitcher from UCLA (#12). No word on the dollars.

What did Seth say the other day about never having seen this many runs or something like that? Well, that's no longer current. What is it, 49 runs in 4 games for Elizabethton? And let me second your comments, dbminn, about Rortvedt. The kid moves up a level and hits better than in the MWL, although still a small sample. And isn't the FSL supposed to be a pitchers league with the bigger ballparks and heavy air? See what happens when Arraez goes hitless like a couple days ago. He makes up for it with a 5 hit night...and they all weren't singles.
