  1. A 2,000 word story takes a lot of time.... And frankly, some of us are better at spewing out SCORCHING hot Twins takes instead!
  2. It feels like a huge waste of Stewart's talents to make him a pitch-to-contact type when he has good stuff. If anything it should be the last resort to make him that kind of pitcher. He could be the new regime's first real significant turnaround candidate under their watch.
  3. Anyone else hearing Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" playing in the background?? Oh hey, it's Lewis Thorpe outside your bedroom window! http://www.poorandpretty.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Say-Anything.jpg
  4. So who was in the doghouse on Valentine's Day 5 years ago where they decided to launch this site? Congrats Twins Daily! You're now old enough to send you to Kindergarten! http://berryberrysweet.com/BLOG/First-day-of-school-kindergarten.jpg
  5. Binge watched "Santa Clarita Diet" on Netflix this weekend. It was very good. Kind of hard to explain the premise of the show without spoiling it... I'll say it's almost like a female lead character version of Dexter.
  6. Definitely someone who is not currently in the organization. It's tough enough to forecast this season's 25 man roster... Forecasting 3 years in advance will melt our brains.
  7. Very cool! Did not know that about ol' Bill. From the trailer they had Hunter Pence hitting into a net, so hopefully there's a cool baseball related episode to watch in April!
  8. I agree, but that point is not right now for Garver IMO... He's had 76 ABs in AAA. Last year was his first full season above A ball. I'm not concerned about his age considering he was drafted at 22 years old. He'll develop more in the minors instead of the alternative - playing once every 5 games in the majors.
  9. Mark your calendars for April 21st. Bill Nye is BACK baby! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-_HKOcYBK8
  10. I don't think we'll come to an agreement here, when most of the time we're on the same page. I'd really only be comfortable with him as a platoon DH against LH pitching. In the grand scheme of things that's ~250 at-bats. He didn't look that great, and frankly over-matched against RH pitching last season.
  11. He stopped playing when Plouffe came back from injury, and when he cooled off from his hot streak. At that point last season, could Vargas get the nod over Plouffe? Sure, the season was already over. He went back to AAA to get every day at-bats to continue his growth. When he came back up in September he played every day, and continued to struggle. I'm just not that bothered by not giving him every day at-bats over a 2 week period, and I don't think they did him wrong by sending him back down to AAA at that time.
  12. They are developing Garver.... He'll get every day at-bats in AAA while Murphy or Gimenez finds at-bats when they can behind Castro. If Castro is hurt for a long period of time, Garver should and probably will get the call to be the every day MLB catcher.
  13. Wouldn't surprise me if Ben Paulsen became a dark horse 40 man add. Given his previous MLB experience and more position flexibility than Park.
  14. His playing time doesn't look all that sporadic to me... He played nearly every day in July, then every 3 days after he struggled for 2+ weeks, and back to every day after September call-ups.
  15. Big fan of LaMonte Wade. I've got to imagine the new regime loves his approach at the plate as well... The MLB team sorely needs a lead-off type hitter who can draw more walks than strikeouts.
  16. Feels like the writing is already on the wall... Especially if the Heyman report has merit that we're looking at any veteran DH with a pulse to join the team. Vargas will be in AAA again to start the season.
  17. Even though they all bat LH, they all do fairly well against LH pitching... For Granite, his splits are fairly similar between RH and LH, but he had over 200 PA's more against RH pitching... The story may be different if he had more PA's against LH pitching. RH - .296 / .348 OBP / .744 OPS LH - .291 / .345 OBP / .684 OPS Rosario certainly has more power against RH pitching, but he can still hold his own against lefties. Kepler hasn't proven to hit lefties well in the majors yet, but he showed he can do it in the minors.
  18. Barring any injury to the starting OF crew (Rosario, Buxton, or Kepler) I'd love to see Granite get the call to get his feet wet in the majors. Cross fingers for a full, healthy season from Burdi.
  19. Seth, question about LaMonte Wade... You said in the original post he's best suited for LF, but will play a lot of CF this year as well. Is there a particular reason why he's better suited for the corners, such as arm strength or speed?
  20. What did we expect as a return for 2 months of Abad? The Red Sox didn't put the wool over our eyes. Receiving a flawed prospect should be expected for a guy like Abad.
