  1. Love Always Sunny.... It's going to go down as one of the best comedies in TV history when it's all said and done. Every week has been a home run... April 19th can't come soon enough!!
  2. Concur. He's only had 76 PA's in AAA so far, and 434 total above A ball. He could use every day at-bats in AAA instead of finding at-bats when he can at the MLB level. If Castro is injured for a significant period of time, that looks like the only path for Garver to get consistent MLB at-bats this season.
  3. Yeah I'm not too concerned about his future position 4-5 years down the road. If the guy continues to hit, they'll find a position for him to play.
  4. This year? ~5% chance. Adrianza would be the default option if they want a glove first SS.
  5. It very well could have been just not being in the right mood to watch a drama at the time I pressed play. I may go back and revisit the show when I have some time to binge.
  6. In the golden age of TV where there's so many shows to keep up with, pacing and plot development is important IMO... When a show starts too slow, like Taboo and Goliath, it's tough to continue investing time in them when there are countless other shows to keep up with. I don't need a show to tie it all together in a pretty bow within 22 or 47 minutes. But having something happen is important. The thing that annoyed me about Taboo for example was it felt like a basketball game... All you had to do was show up for the last 5 minutes and something happened.
  7. There are some most websites where "DON'T READ THE COMMENTS" definitely comes into play... Looking at you, Start Tribune / Facebook / ESPN! This is definitely not one of those places. Hell, sometimes I don't even read the OP and jump in when the comments veer off in another direction.
  8. We need to see Jay get more quality starts... Only 5 times in 15 starts where he pitched 6 complete innings or more. This is a big year for him in his development.
  9. Much like Nick, I only made it through 2 episodes as well. The pacing is definitely problematic and the key reason why I haven't continued the series... Does it get any better? Or are there agonizingly slow scenes throughout the series?
  10. I don't think it boils down to that. Molitor could value Adrianza's defense and let Polanco be the utility guy this year. Based on what we saw last season I would almost bet on Adrianza being the guy to start most games at SS because he's better defensively than Polanco.
  11. Not really... All it would take is Molitor valuing defense over offense.
  12. I think the SS competition between Polanco and Adrianza is closer than we like to believe. It would not surprise me if Adrianza started more games at SS than Polanco this season.
  13. Set your DVRs to BBC America tomorrow night at 8:00 PM CT.... Planet Earth 2 is making it's US debut!
  14. Another guy, like Blankenhorn, where it's hard to get too excited about right now. Too far away, and too many things that still need to happen in his development.
  15. Couldn't disagree more with your last paragraph. With this logic, Manny Machado doesn't care about the Orioles, Julio Urias hates the Dodgers, etc.
  16. That's what I'm here for! To spew the takes, and ask the HARD HITTING questions.
  17. Yeah I suppose. He's still down there in Florida right now and getting the crash course before leaving for this tournament, no? Being with the coaches every day is a good thing, but pitching against Manny Machado 3 times a game instead of Manny MayNeverMakeIt is also valuable.
  18. I don't get why Berrios pitching in the WBC is viewed as a negative thing... There's a lot of very good players going to the tournament. Probably better talent than what he would face in spring training this year if he stayed in Florida.
  19. We heard John's side of the story that you misunderstood the initial offer and John became a petulant, pouty ass as a result of it. What's your side of the story, Brock?
  20. This should certainly be the most fluid group on the team. All I really care about is shuffling through the list of 13+ options and making a decision on who stays and who goes after this year. The MiLB options aren't spring chickens anymore. They need to get their chance in the MLB soon.
  21. Your last paragraph hits the nail on the head where I'm at with Stewart. We probably don't have enough info to blame Stewart's lack of progression entirely on the past regime. But, as you pointed out, the past regime didn't have many, if any, success stories developing power arms. From our view 1,000 miles away, it sure sounds like they were still preaching pitch to contact and making him a sinker ball pitcher. I also believe a new regime and new philosophy could work wonders for him. Looking forward to reading his progress in the minor league reports this year!
  22. And welcome aboard to Twins Daily! A place with zero SEC talk! Don't be a stranger around here.
  23. spycake is usually the go-to on here for service time questions... IIRC, he was left on the MLB roster for a couple days too long in 2014 to not qualify for the extra option year. Whatever it was, they screwed up wasting these option years... He had literally 20 PA's combined in 2014 and 2015. They could have thrown a dead corpse on the field to save Polanco's option years.
  24. Agreed. This will be a good year to see if a new regime and new philosophy will fix the K/BB stat problem. Frankly I wouldn't mind a step back in overall numbers if his game plan is more focused on inducing more swinging strikes. Maybe he gives up more HRs and he won't have a sexy sub-3 ERA with a different game plan. In the long run, it should help him out more to use more of his power pitches, and not focus entirely on inducing weak ground balls. As someone who was down on him because of the low K rate, I'm feeling different about him this year. And I'm excited to see if the new regime can help him realize he can be more than a sinker ball, pitch to contact guy.
