  1. I do and a risk adverse pick to boot. And ridiculous if not selecting a pitcher.
  2. With our pitching the way it is, the idea that this team would take a position player at 1:1 ticks me off. I have wanted Greene for long time and that hasn't changed!
  3. http://www.mlbdailydish.com/2017/6/12/15783758/mlb-draft-2017-twins-brendan-mckay-royce-lewis 'The Twins are expected to select either Brendan McKay or Royce Lewis with the first overall pick.' 'Despite the fact that California high-schooler Hunter Greene is the consensus top prospect in this year’s MLB Draft class, the Twins apparently aren’t interested in making him the first high-school right-handed pitcher ever to be selected first overall. That’s been publicly known for a while now. It was more widely thought, however, that Minnesota might be interested in Vanderbilt right-hander Kyle Wright, who is unanimously ranked as the top collegiate righty in this draft class.'
  4. The new FO management is either bold and willing to take risks, or it's a conservative, risk-adverse FO.
  5. I loved Span. Very under-rated defender for us. Got good reads, had good speed, took good routes. A plus defender for us and a very good leadoff guy. But he certainly isn't/wasn't flashy.
  6. That's what happens with poor drafting, misguided drafting strategy (let's draft a bunch of relievers and try to convert them to starters, we so smart) and poor pitching development. BTW, is anyone even THINKING Kohl Stewart is going to amount to anything in the majors at this point?
  7. I have been a big Kepler believer for a long time. Loved his defense and offense. Nice to see him doing well for us.
  8. it will change. Its better to use DRS anyway, IMO, especially before the year finishes.
  9. Rosarios defense was exagerrated due to assists (like his offense was exaggerated due to unsustainable triples). He is a good defender, but he still needs to work on his baseball smarts.
  10. its about average, zero being average. But for DRS, only 8 OF in baseball have more DRS. Thats looking at 68 qualifying OFs. Kepler is a very good defender. Been saying that for quite some time and my opinion hasnt changed.
  11. UZR hates Kepler this year? He is in the plus side of UZR in RF and CF. DRS has him with 6 defensive runs saved too. And the pitching hasnt been much better at all. The pitching staff ranks dead last in AL in regards to FIP, though I keep getting told ERA is the actual results of the pitchers efforts. In ERA, they are 12th.
  12. Crazy people... Again, as said before and many times, most people aren't against RBI nor are they Anti-RBI. They think it's a horrible way to evaluate players' abilities. That doesn't make them anti-RBI, that just means they understand that there are MANY factors out of the batter's control that contributes to a player getting RBI.
  13. Mauer has started 33 of the Twins' 42 games going into today.
  14. From 2010 to 2013 (the pre-concussion years) Mauer's play was worth an average value of 27M. It was going very well. His wRC+ was 135 or higher in 3 of those 4 years. Then the concussion happened.
  15. Gibson looked horrible. I give him credit for looking horrible :-)
  16. I thought they were talking about how the offense is more relaxed on the road therefore they do better.
  17. Its close to bad part, but it's actually in a good part. Been there for many games, still my favorite park ever.
  18. Going into today, Twins wRC+ at home was 103, Twins wRC+ on the road was 97. Were our announcers just saying we hit better on the road? Cause no...not by wRC+ or standard BA/OBP/SLG%
  19. Indians rotation is 3rd in the AL in FIP and WAR. Tied for 1st in K/9, 5th in BB/9. But they have the 2nd worst LOB%, and they have the 2nd highest BABIP (which contributes to the worst AL ERA), so they apparently have the worst rotation...
  20. The only thing Rosario has in common with HOFer Puckett and perhaps deserving to be HOFer Oliva is they all played for the Twins. Punto is like Oliva and Puckett too.
