  1. SO what you're saying Bert, is when Meijia was getting rocked, you didn't see what the Twins saw in him but when he started doing well, you did. Amazing, insightful analysis.
  2. Stop assigning some blame of the bullpen failures to the rotation Richard and Bert. Everyone knows one has nothing to do with the other :-) And Mauer hit another useless HR.
  3. Ah, yes the results that actually happened. The results (ERA) that evaluate pitchers' performance by taking into account not only what the pitcher did, but what his defense (to include the catcher who is half the battery) did too. Got it. Some might consider that a team effort and not just a pitcher's effort. Then there are the judgments of official scorers that get considered too. As a fan of the Twins, I AM glad Santana got in though. I just think there are more deserving candidates not only in the starter department, but the reliever department as well.
  4. just like ERA and bWAR are tied together and plenty have serious issues with ERA too.
  5. Rest assured only when it's a foregone conclusion that the Twins WIN the W Series will France jump in and help...
  6. I have found that most of the things I like to snack on don't reside in the fridge, but rather the pantry.
  7. Not everyone selected gets to play in the game. Just sayin'. But it doesn't mean anything except for the fans to enjoy seeing their players.
  8. Ramirez has been better than Sano this year as well. Offensively and defensively. Ramirez is deservedly the starter.
  9. Interesting that the NL pitching staff has 6 relievers and the AL team only has 3 (and Betances is undeserving) . Devenski, Parker and Osunu must be feeling very slighted.
  10. Sano is definitely worthy of being a reserve and these two were the only two Twins that one could argue a case for making the team. I still don't think Santana is worthy, but happy for him, my fellow Twins fans and fans of the ERA stat :-)
  11. I was just saying yesterday that what the Twins need are more pitch to contact pitchers. Nice to see the FO oblige. Hope you have a great game Felix!
  12. Twins have horrible pitching, average offense, and very good defense (mostly centered around the OF and a couple IF spots). Not a great formula for a true contender when 162 games are played.
  13. Which is incredible in and of itself because the lineup the Yankees ran out during his time was awesome.
  14. yeah, my mother in law and wife love those.
  15. I have been watching a lot of the cooking channel (Food Network).Diners, Drive ins and Dives, Beat Bobby Flay, Iron Chef, Chopped...
  16. Season one of Broadchurch was one of my favorite seasons of any show ever. Season 2 was a bit of a letdown, but that seemed inevitable. Looking forward to see how Season 3 turned out.
  17. In the post I last responded to, YOU Said 'He had a serviceable first month.' YOU picked the time frame. In the first month (April), he ONLY HAD FIVE STARTS. He didn't have six starts. So I looked at the stats from April (the first month). The alternative was to go get better pitching (and not count on a guy who is coming off injury and hasn't been good for years).I guess I thought that was obvious, but I didn't say it. You're right.
  18. ugh. at the end of the first month, his ERA was over 5.00 while only going an average of 5 innings..I'm done with this debate, it was fun, thanks.
  19. Gibson being the barometer should tell you something. but it''s cherry picking. You bring up his first six starts, (where he gave up four or more ERA half the time) and you discard his last three completely. :-)
