  1. It ****** me off to no end watching Pressley pitch for the Astros.
  2. Gleaned from the interwebs: in their last 55 postseason games against teams other than the Minnesota Twins, the NYY are 22-33.
  3. So the World Series should be a best of 163 series?
  4. That's pretty generous. Celestino is worthless. You can find 100 Celestinos in the minors. Most of them might even be able to run the bases. And hoping that someday, Alcala can become what Pressley already is, is the definition if a failed trade.
  5. 1st of all, all of baseball dealt with the pandemic and missed seasons. 2nd, if somehow the Twins were damaged more by missing 2020 than the other 29 teams, shouldn't Falvine have accounted for that, rather than count on prospects who weren't going to pan out because reasons? 3rd, all of baseball dealt with the pandemic and missed seasons.
  6. You don't need to watch much postseason baseball to understand how much better these bullpens are than what the Twins have. It's clear as day.
  7. We don't have any version of Royce Lewis until midseason, at which point he's most likely not any kind of answer at SS. And Iglesias is only "league average" if we're talking the International League.
  8. Signing Iglesias to play SS is roughly the equivalent of signing Matt Shoemaker to be in your rotation. It'll do nothing to help you win, but somebody has to stand out there.
  9. I think I hate the Dodgers more than the Yankees.
  10. I guess the idea we're going to drive up the price the Yankees pay fits in this thread.
  11. Seems to me the trainer HAD to be fired, results were awful. The same thing could be said for the 3rd base coach. At minimum. I'd also argue both the hitting and pitching coaches were less than inspriring.
  12. I'm ranked #3 in the world by the WBA (World Bananagram Association.) Should be #2, but you know how it is with Russian judges.
  13. Concur. Between naps, watching college FB, and playing bananagrams with Mrs Chief it was tough to squeeze 'em all in.
  14. All four games 2's are immediately elimination games, no matter what. Intense 1st round.
  15. Gotta say, I'm a big fan of the new postseason format. More teams in the postseason was inevitable, and they've done it well.
  16. "Trevor Megill went down with an oblique strain after unleashing a wild pitch in warmups – which nearly hurt one the only injured player who DID make it back, Ryan Jeffers." Your 2022 Minnesota Twins, ladies and germs.
  17. Haven't you been a proponent of the theory we can't blame Rocco (aka "the dugout") because he's simply an extension of the front office? Pitching decisions are the result of analytics? Another manager would simply be more of the same? The front office makes all the decisions? But now we don't know what's going on?
  18. Satire only works when there's a thin layer of truth in there somewhere.
