  1. Paddack not pitching in 2023 is the most likely result, though it's worth noting that athletes can return from an ACL tear in around 9-10 months, so I wouldn't rule out Lewis being good to go by some point in the first half of the year. I just have no hope long-term that this team will be able to avoid injuries - both the hitters and pitchers have been constantly plagued by it the past couple years and the minor league system isn't faring a whole lot better.
  2. The line has gone from GB -1.5 to MIN -2.5 in the past 24 hours… ?
  3. This offense is suddenly good at scoring garbage time runs - what, is Cleveland playing prevent defense or something?
  4. Balazovic has a long ways to go, even with this step in the right direction. He's got to prove 2022 was an outlier with a hot start next year. I wouldn't mind getting Wallner up to the majors with some of our bats cooling, I'd like him over Cave and over Garlick vs RHs.
  5. Dang, I got busy doing other things and didn't even notice the Twins scored 6. Ironic how Correa is erupting today when we really could have used this the past week from him.
  6. I don't know how anyone could watch this team the past 6-8 weeks and come to this conclusion... they're clearly not built to go on any sort of run. They are barely treading water in the worst division in baseball! Not to mention how horrifically they play when they face the likes of the Yankees/Dodgers/Astros. If they do reach the postseason, it's probably the weakest team they've reached it since... I don't even know when. Heck, I'd take the 2017 squad over this one. They're poised to add on to their playoff loss streak if they do sneak in.
  7. Didn't our bullpen numbers plummet right when Johnson left? I'm not sure we should look into these things with small sample sizes, but I can't believe that Wes leaving helped things. But there could be truth to the MPH+ training leading to more injuries. Well, the stats don't really show the whole story since he was the best reliever in baseball the first two months, then became completely unusable until the Padres traded him, and now he's been mediocre for the Brewers. I'd still take him, but we'd be disappointed with him if he were not traded - he hasn't been his old self for a good 3 months now.
  8. The pitch clock is a godsend, don't care about the bases... I don't like the shift limitations, but I suppose it's worth a shot.
  9. Is an ump going to help us save this game? That would be hard to believe.
  10. Yup, I won all 3 bets against them in this series. At some point you'd think the sportsbooks would learn and ban betting on Twins-Yanks games until some regression finally comes...
  11. Bringing in Moran to face Judge... bold move. *ducks for cover*
  12. You're thinking he'll opt in and be a trade option? Hmmm, I never considered that.
  13. Megill has both losses in this series... can we DFA him? Or hire somebody who can figure out how to fix the likes of Megill and Pagan? Can't keep these guys on the roster if they can't do their job. Meanwhile, my plan to bet on the Yankees over the Twins every game this year has a 80% success rate. Let's see if that will continue through the final two games.
  14. Both of these teams are embarrassing themselves today...
  15. I would be pissed about Guzman if I were a Yankees fan, you get a shot with the majors squad and you do that with the bases loaded no out?!
  16. Correa may not be living up to his pay at the plate, but he sure has defensively. Heck of a play!
  17. Bold of you to assume we’ll have another lead in this series…
  18. So far, so good for Varland. Helps that the offense finally decided to show up in the early innings.
  19. It's shocking to see the Yankees' lineup emaciated like this - Guzman hitting at the #4 spot? He was literally just called up after not being in the majors since 2021. But they'll still likely beat us all the same!
  20. 2/3 of the 2020 season is 40 games... yeah, that's nice to get out of a minor league free agent, but it's nothing to write home about. Pretty telling if that's one of the primary success stories for the FO in 6 years. But we've been saying that for years, and yet this season we've had to trade for Gray, Paddack, and Mahle, and had to sign Bundy and Archer... and we'll probably need to add more for next year as well. As for the current pipeline... it's Varland and Woods-Richardson, and then not much on the horizon. MLB.com's last update placed the Twins farm system at #23 and I agree that it's in the bottom 10. There's certainly no starter prospects who profiles as a future ace, which is something we've been hoping that the new regime would be able to find since Cleveland developed the likes of Clevinger, Bauer (yes, I know he was traded) and Bieber.
  21. A single series shouldn't determine anything for the full season - to me it's more about how they play in the aggregate. The Yankees series isn't going to change what I think about this squad.
