  1. This team is just so awful with manufacturing runs. Why the heck is Gordon stealing 3B? He can usually score from 2B! Beckham needs to go back to AAA. Ugh.
  2. It feels like this game has been going forever, was there a delay or something? Seems like they’ve been in the 9th for 45 minutes.
  3. Rocco needs to give Kepler the Sano treatment, put him in the 9 spot and wait to see if he clicks. Dude is 5 of his last 47, at this time Cave is a better option, which is something I did not think I'd be saying in the year 2022.
  4. I don't mind starting the 10th with Thielbar as he's been on fire lately, but I'd rather see Duran put in to stop the bleeding at 3-2 than Jax who has been questionable the past while.
  5. That's actually something that frustrates me about Rocco - he takes a very non-analytical approach to closers, like last year opting to give Colome as many chances as possible to prove he sucked and then even in September keep using him there, only using Alcala once. Now he's fixated on using only Lopez here when he should go with the hot hand. I can guarantee you if Rogers were still here, Rocco would still be using him in the 9th even though he's pitching really poorly.
  6. Megill also had some fairly awful numbers before this year, so it's worth a shot to see if Jewell can be groomed into something like him. I'd rather give him a shot then the likes of Thornburg/Minaya/etc.
  7. Max will be back, but it's been disappointing to see that the 2019 version of himself was a mirage and he's just a .230 hitter. He'll justify his value with having a good walk rate, great defense, and some pop (though that hasn't been good this year). He's more durable than the other OFs too. And if the shift is reduced, Max should benefit.
  8. O'Connell's offense is going to be quite different from the Kubiak system we've been running - players have talked about how they've been spending a lot of time learning terminology and the playbook since we're transitioning to a McVay-like system.
  9. I had it in my notes that Varland threw softer, I didn't realize he was hitting those numbers consistently. Maybe that gets him bumped up to #3. ? When it comes to Twins pitching prospects, always have low expectations, since most of the time they will not be exceeded. I'd love to get my hopes up but I have a hard time justifying it.
  10. The bats are to blame here, but how have we not reached the point where Pagan is canned? He’s been a garbage tier reliever for 3 years now and we can’t coach these guys up. Time to throw in the towel.
  11. Ohtani completely screwed that up, no reason to advance to 2B. They win if he just stands at 1B.
  12. Methinks Varland has a ceiling as a #4 starter, but the problem is that our rotation will already be full of those types next year... but of course, injuries will happen and he'll get a shot then. I'd keep him as a starter and experiment with the others (primarily Sands) to see if they can work as relievers.
  13. No thanks, he was starting to get drubbed in the 6th.

  15. Hot take - I think we see one of the 3rd-5th round QBs from this year's become a legit starter a la Cousins/Wilson. In normal drafts, the likes of Malik Willis, Desmond Ridder, Sam Howell, and Matt Corral would go in the late 1st-2nd round, but this year teams showed a lot of patience. If I had to bet, I'd guess Willis can at least be like Jalen Hurts.
  16. Uh, what? The NFL, NBA, and NHL are not suffering from anything close to as bad as the lack of parity in baseball - why isn't capitalism ruining them? ?
  17. Sanchez is at 82 games, so probably somewhere in between 82 and 95.
  18. Getting 4 runs plus an inherited runner in 4.1 innings is pretty good, I'd say, even if we don't put another 2 up.
  19. I wonder if the Twins will be in the market for a DH over the offseason... feels like we've had too many games with the likes of Sanchez/Beckham/etc taking PAs. It is nice for giving Buxton days off but getting a bat somewhat like Cruz's would be nice.
  20. I guess we don't have many pending free agents (though I wouldn't mind re-signing Fulmer), but still, Contreras would be an option if we're not getting Correa back. There are several ways to spend that $35M and I'm not convinced dropping it all into Correa is the right call, but it may not be the wrong one either.
  21. Can't say I'm shocked, wasn't durability a huge red flag for him in the draft process? Or was that just his funky delivery? Having the surgery so late in the year, he may not pitch until late 2023. Great. This pitching pipeline isn't working when the pipes are full of leaks... not to mention that our hitting prospects catch the injury bug at a high rate too. Another year, another failure to yield much from the pitching prospects.
  22. Here's an update to my depth chart with the team's unofficial depth chart released: As for the QB spot, it seems like the new regime is doing everything they can to give Mond the job, but he's seemingly just not there, as he's taking too long to throw and has thrown some bad picks. It's still early for him, but he has the look of a guy who might be a backup and certainly won't be our QB of the future.
