  2. Found this amusing: Yesterday was a notable moment in Bitcoin’s history: Bitcoin Pizza Day, the anniversary of the first usage of Bitcoins to purchase a real-world good. (Two Papa John’s Pizzas.) At the time, a guy paid $30 worth of freshly mined coins for his treat; at current market prices, they’d now be worth more than $10 million apiece.
  3. $32.55!!! This could be the greatest mistake I have ever made.
  4. Serious question: Did you read the article at all? Pretty sure it laid out how Mauer isn't as diminished as some hope he is...
  5. My bitcoin app was running slow today and I accidentally bought $14,000 worth of LiTECoin. I guess I am along for the ride, it's up from $27.95 to $30.06 so far. Gulp
  6. I will never understand the people who do all they can to pile on Mauer. He's likely one of the best 5 catchers in the history of the game, and definitely one of the best 5 hitters in Twins history. I LOVE that the numbers are coming back for Mauer, not only bc it makes the 2017 that much better with Mauer Raking, but another good season or two prob puts him in the hall of fame no doubt. (He should be in regardless, but voters can be.....dumb at times) Love seeing Mauer doing well, hope he keeps it up. I also think he is a big reason why Sano is taking much more patient at bats. I have been told from folks around the game that even though Mauer is a "quiet guy, no a rah rah type" he is a very good leader and one of the most respected players in baseball: teammates, opponents, coaches, scouts, umpires, FO etc
  7. I don't mind if it's a rental, as long as the piece(s) given up aren't going to be missed: Like take on the contract and give up a C level prospect or two, the following pitchers could fit the bill: -Marco Estrada -Trevor Cahill -Alex Cobb (Rays would need to fall out a bit) -Johnny Cueto (Interesting case as he can opt out of his 4 year 82 million after this year which he most likely will, if not, I wouldn't mind the Twins being on the hook for that!) -Jeremy Hellickson -Ian Kennedy (Royals might be open to trading in the division) -Tyson Ross (DL) -Vargas (see royals) Hellickson, Estrada and Cobb would probably be my top targets. They would cost a bit more, but I doubt the Twins would have to give up any of their better prospects.
  8. Yeah,at this point nearly every pitcher is an upgrade over tossing Gibson or Tespech out every 5th day. Just trade for Richard or a similar "boring" pitcher and be done with it.
  9. I dunno about that, he looked like a 21 year old who struggled with his first cup of coffee, that is what usually happens with pitchers on all teams.
  10. Bitcoin about to hit $2000
  11. One company I can't plug enough is betterment. Signed up with them late last year and have given me a 14.2% return thus far on my 90% stocks 10% bonds and an 8.5% on my 70/30. Fees beat all their competitors as well, if interested I can send a link (and it gets me no fees for 6 months as well as you)
  12. Results are what matter and what ultimately win games. I don't care with his FIP xFIP etc are The reality is that every game Santana has pitched this year, he has given the Twins a damn good chance to win every single one, and they have won every one (I think) with the exception of the Chris Sale game (which the bullpen blew anyways) Ervin Santana is our ace, until he is not.
  13. He's a staff ace for this team. I equate him to what Radke was, Radke got the Twins to the cusp of contending, then Johan came along and got us to the next level. Hopefully Berrios can be that. Berrios and Santana could be a solid 1-2 IMO. Not perfect, but not bad.
  14. I don't think it's the Twins "punishing" Berrios for playing in the WBC as much as it is the Twins being super super super beyond conservative when it comes to young pitching prospects. Yes, new leadership etc etc etc but the majority of the old regime is still around. It takes a lot of time to change process and thinking that has been going on for the last 20 some odd years.
  15. Lot of angst over a guy who likely won't see more than 3-4 appearances for the big league club this year. If he has more than that, then it's probably a very good signing.
  16. This makes me feel better, I sold too early on some of my bitcoin, I put that into Berkshire...and more Nvidia!
  17. How many of those were about the best player on their respective teams?
