  1. Concussions lead to CTE, that is pretty traumatic.
  2. Yes, but most teams would keep it in house instead of having the press do their dirty work AND making public statements about it.
  3. The time to sign him I am afraid was this last off season. It's a shame we wasted a full cheap year of him by running him out to RF 100 times. I tend to think that he may not even want to stick around on this club, I imagine that the comments about his weight, going home to the DR etc don't sit very well with him. His star power would be massive as well in a major market. If he were a Yankee, Red Sox, Dodger or Cub he would be one of the faces of baseball.
  4. Often times they are. The Twins certainly won the AJ trade, I imagine most Giants fans would say they "lost" that trade.
  5. Yes, I'm not saying people shouldn't like Chicago Deep Dish P*****, just that it is not Pizza
  6. HSO: Deep Dish Pizza isn't Pizza. If you have to eat it with a fork and knife it's not pizza.
  7. Au Cheval is the best burger you will ever eat. It's usually a 2-3 hour wait, but there are plenty of bars near by to get a few pre meal drinks.
  8. In the day of 1,000,000 man bullpens and SP who can't go more than 100 pitches, there really is no place for a guy whose main role is PR (unless it's the playoffs), but even then, Santana isn't exactly Billy Hamilton or even Aaron Hicks on the base paths. I think Santana ultimately is just AAAA type depth, he can fill in for a week or two if your 2B or SS gets injured, he can step in during that time and be the Util bench guy. It wouldn't shock me to see him "play" in the majors for another 4-5 years, but it also wouldn't shock me if with that he never saw more than 120 at bats a year as well.
  9. Hopefully we don't see Chapman pitching for the Twins. I'm not hating on the trade, bc the best part is getting Santana off the roster, but if anything I view Chapman as decent AAA depth for when we start cutting more BP guys and calling up more and more from AA and AAA
  10. I mean, obviously Santana isn't going to have a low 1.00's ERA, but I wouldn't call him a pretender. I think he is more than capable of being an "ace" for this club and one of the top 20 pitchers in all of baseball this year. Sano is as "real" as they get. Dozier will be fine, he seems to have been hitting the ball harder lately IMO. Santiago will settle in as a solid #3.
  11. He's gonna have to improve all aspects of his game to be a contributor for an NL or any team. He had one of the 3 lowest WARs in baseball over the last 2 years.
  12. Walk off Hr! Hopefully this jump starts him a bit (turns the luck around a bit as well hopefully)
  13. DAVE W'S GAMETHREAD BREAKING NEWS Aaron Hicks update: 3 for 5, 1 2B. .316 av, 1.076 OPS This has been another DAVE W's BREAKING NEWS
  14. Mike I sold off some bitcoin earlier this week. Shifted some to Berkshire B and more to Nvidia. I think eventually bitcoin will take another dip, will heavy back up again then.
  15. Rubes yes. I'm talking about the media though, they only got on Mauer the minute he signed his massive deal. Prior to that he was treated as the baby Jesus. This isn't a bash Mauer thing at all btw, just pointing out the Minneapolis medias somewhat obvious racial basis.
  16. BABIP is irrelevant when you are mashing 60-70 dongs a year and getting 150 walks a year. When it comes to Bonds, the fact is not a whole lot of his at bats resulted in balls in play.
  17. Yeah, I never got it. It's the whole "we can't have nice things in Minnesota" type approach. I do wonder if their is a little racial and language bias in some of the reporting as well, since Sano doesn't fit the Parise, Mauer, Molitor "one of us, one of us" thing that Minnesotan's inexplicably love. Mauer as a youngster- spent his off-season in cabin with brothers/friends. "That's good" Sano as a youngster- spent his off-season going back to the DR to be with Friends and Family "IMMATURITY! IMMATURITY!" Could you imagine the commentary that Sano would be getting these days if he was dating Ms. America? "Distraction! Distraction!"
  18. I wouldn't count on it. ESPN's pains are from overpaying for MNF and NCAAFB. Baseball revenues will be fine, if some people start cutting the cord, mlb.tv subs will go up. MLB has been on top of this for a long time.
  19. Yup, they literally couldn't have been any worse (for a professional sports team)
  20. Yeah all of these "he can't stick at SS" things coming from the org didn't have a lot of legit reason to begin with, and now look even worse IMO.
