    My take is that Berrios navigated some extra outs and tough luck grounders until that luck evened out on a nice fielding play by his first baseman. He then went on to shutdown the Sox for 3.2 until his pitch count met a single when May was ready. Not shaky.

    Baldelli is right on the edge of the millenial generation. I think it's a perfect fit. The difficult picture for me to imagine is 15-20 years from now when we get our first managers from the other edge of the millenial generation and the first Gen Z manager. Those guys will probably sit in the dugout watching the game on their mobile device and texting the moves to the coaches and players which will pop up on a messaging device embedded in their gear. Interview question: "So, what's this new [Gen Z] manager like?" Interview answer: "I don't know. I've never spoken to him, but he does like that frowny face emoji."

    Another team, another season series win. Still 65 games left against the ALC. This is shaping up to be a fun summer.

    Arraez sure looks locked in for a kid who just turned 22 and all but skipped AAA. I think I've only seen a single pitch where he didn't look in complete control, and it was a late swing on a foul ball. Sano seemed to improve a little in each appearance last night. His timing is getting there, and he's strong enough that he can obviously be off a tad and still crush. I said I would ignore his first 20 PAs, and he had a 45% K-Rate in those. Glad to see him come through for the team late. Latroy Hawkins needs to go. The way he reads queue cards, or whatever they use, word for word reminds me of listening to my kids read Amelia Bedelia from the I Can Read series. Some of the pointers that he brings up are good, but the delivery is terrible. I think he would have more value to the organization just focusing on being a roving pitching assistant and possible talent evaluator.

    Impressed by Arraez at the plate .... He's gotten on base four times in 1.5 games and could have had a 5th time on that judgement call obstruction call. He seems to have good control of the strike zone. In the field, he made a couple nice plays, but also goofed on that throw from Duffey on Saturday. I also wonder if his arm was a bit lacking on that potential double-play turn in the 2nd inning. It was a nice turn, but I might just be spoiled by Schoop's gun.

    The White Sox are coming to town this weekend. If Tim Anderson tries that bat flip $%^ at Target Field, maybe he'll find an Austin Adams 98 mph heater in the elbow or knee later in the game.

    Wow, looking at the group of trash opposing starters coming up, I expect at least another 40-50 runs this week.

    Love the title of this recap, since I think it needs to be recognized. Luis Arraez was also called up yesterday, even though he didn't play. 20% of the roster is from Venezuela.

    The Kernels have some promising pitching, but they can't hit. Go look at their individual hitting stats and sort by at-bats then slide over to OPS. It's bad. Williams and Snyder are the only hitters, and they are old to very old for Single A. They need to get Javier and Severino back from injury. I also wasn't very impressed by their defense (sans Pearson) when I saw them live.

    Really? Have you watched Pineda pitch? Does he seem like the kind of guy that is going to be able to get up in the middle of a game and get himself ready in short order? Pineda looks like he needs all the pre-game long toss and bullpen warm-up time he can get. Graterol as a weapon in the bullpen down the stretch this season could make some sense though, and there is plenty of precedent for it around the league.

    But, but, but you said that Hildenberger had become a proven commodity .

    This is a completely uninformed take. It isn't just the Angels that have his number. You forgot the Yankees, Astros and Tigers. It isn't a kneejerk reaction either. His last 41 innings of hot garbage is more than enough to justify a demotion. He was the worst player on the team and deserves to be gone.

    It's going to be a managerial balancing act for sure. Getting Sano enough PAs to allow him to show he can realize his potential (or not) and keeping what's been a very good defense most games in tact will be tough. Marwin's versatility makes it easy in theory ( just give everyone a day off each week), but his defensive value at the hot corner and the drop-off that's realized at other positions doesn't make it cut and dried. Great problem to have provided Sano is producing after a few games of getting back into seeing MLB pitching and the routine of the MLB game.

    Yep, and according to some they don't even have Babe Ruth at catcher and Rod Carew at shortstop. AJ Hinch is a genius!!!
