It's Archer's destiny to shine in MN. If Archer had come to MN instead of PIT back when, he would have developed into that ace that everyone expected him to be. Alas that didn't happen but he's here now.

Is he 100%? I don't know, he says he is. Could he be that work horse he once was? IDK, he could eventually be. Could he be an ace? IDK, he could still become one. 

All I know if he's used right , he'll shine here in MN. Plus be a positive mentor to our young pitchers. God bless you Chris!

These are exactly the high variance signings the FO needs though. If you get the upside version, great! If not, move on to Winder or any of the great AAA pitching prospects who happen to be on fire at the time.

Heck, if Archer pitches just okay for half a season (4.3 ERA?), that might be the bridge to one of the young prospects to emerge as another good starter. Suppose Balazovic blows away the competition in St Paul, like a 2.00 ERA for half a season. Then if Archer's arm fails, Twins call up Blaze to fill the gap. 

Almost every season is a cobble job for this team. Just so happens that this year, they've got some pretty good stones for cobbling. 

A big omission is Bartolo Colon. 

But at least we have Carlos "Don't Call Me Kevin" Corre(i)a.

Was about to mention Colon. Also had R.A. Dickey, but he was here BEFORE he was good.

I do agree with this sentiment. I don't know if Archer meets the criteria, but the mindset/approach is what is important.

I BELIEVE!  AMEN BROTHER!  I will take my share of the shame if that is my burden to bear.  Please let them be better than we think they will be.  

The reclamation project I hope they'll still take a chance on is Sidd Finch. 

Let's not forget Mike Lamb, Tony Bautista, Jeff Cirillo. That last one might be the most baseball guy name of them all.
