  1. Twins strike out 3 times in a row against this schmuck. I hate it when they start striking out in bunches. C'mon guys.
  2. Molitor would be a fool to pull Santana now. The Twins 'pen is not the Yankees.
  3. Castro didn't do too well framing that "strike 3" before Didi hit the bomb, did he? I feel sick.
  4. Nope, Castro had 2 outs. All Buxton needed to do was make contact to make it a 4-0 game.
  5. So forced. It's not like this came about from the fans in an organic way - the Yankees PR team put the idea together and handed out robes to a section. Disney (er, ESPN) ran with it. I've seen boy bands that are less manufactured!
  6. Guys, I had a dream last night that I forgot about the game. I turned it on and it was the 7th inning...and the Twins were losing 8-0. I was so mad that I'd missed the game, and that the Twins were getting blown out. I felt very negative even after waking up....but guess what? It was only a dream! C'mon Twins, get out there and prove my nightmare wrong! Blow the doors of the NYY tonight! Crap I'm so nervous....
  7. I would not DH him in New York - unless the Twins DH him the next 2 games against the Tigers and he hammers the ball all over the place. I prefer to use Sano as a pinch-hitter, or better yet, simply a threat. The fact that the Twins have access to this guy is enough to scare another team. Maybe a situation arises with men on 2nd and 3rd late in the game. The Yanks decide they'll pitch to Dozier, rather than walk him and have Sano come up with the bases loaded. When Dozier hits a 3-run homer on a high fastball, the Twins can pull Sano back from the on-deck circle.
  8. To be honest (and I hope I don't regret saying this), I'm glad the Twins will face Severino. He's great, but he's right-handed. The Twins seem to have all kinds of trouble against lefties. I'd be more worried if a guy like CC Sabathia was on the mound - just a gut feeling here. Severino's young and an early run or two could shake him up. If the Twins could somehow stake an early 4-0 lead they just might have a chance. However, that fireball lefty closer the Yanks have is almost impossible to hit, so going into the 9th down just 1-2 runs might be insurmountable.
  9. Holy crap, I'm so happy! Bring on the Yanks, we've got them right where we want 'em: on the brink of elimination. What a year. The last week or so during the trading deadline was such a roller coaster, with the sweep at the hands of the Dodgers probably being the low point. To see this team claw back and not give up...just...wow. Erv's been THE MAN all year and having a guy like that for a one-game playoff is huge. How about a classic Erv complete game next Tuesday?
  10. I am excited but I'm curbing my enthusiasm 'til the Twins lock this one down. At this point I'm taking an ultra conservative approach here. It makes me nervous when Dick mentions playoff tickets on the air, LOL. One game at a time, boys. Looking forward to seeing Erv take the hill tonight.
