  1. Why is R. Rosario ranked 19 but Landa is an honorable mention? I would think both should be in the upper teens/early 20s
  2. The scuttlebutt seems to be that the three best starting pitchers in the Twins camp might be Santana, Berrios, and May. But only one of those guys has a legitimate shot at breaking camp as a starter. I understand why that is, but I don't like it.
  3. TNSTAAPP refers more to the fact pitchers get injured and predicting how they come back from injury seems to be tougher than hitters. So if you reference TNSTAAPP the floor for each of these guys becomes: Injured never regains form.
  4. My takeaway - Jeremy Nygaard claims Ryand Boldt is the collegiate version of Mike Trout Got it (In seriousness, Im looking forward to your draft coverage as now the armchair scouts will have to work a bit harder instead of focusing on just the top 5 guys)
  5. If AJ Achter is right I win $1750 dollars!!! (for charity, maybe for entertainment purposes only, allegedly)
  6. That 2012 draft has the potential to being one the best twins drafts ever. - Twins Fans had to suffer through the horrid 2011 season to get it, but at least they drafted guys who are now in the mix: Buxton, Berrios, Melotakis, Chargois, Walker, Z Jones, Duffey & Rogers
  7. Did any of the reporters ask if Plouffe was pushing for a multi-year deal instead of arbitration? Next year is his last year under team control, and at his age, now is the time to get a 3-4 year deal or its never going to happen. If the Twins are not willing to do this, if I were his agent I would be pushing for a trade.
  8. Is there a reason Huascar Ynoa won't be in the GCL this year? He had a really nice DSL stat line
  9. Its still surprising that he fell to the 4th round, and I think we are all looking forward to seeing him pitch for the Twins someday. Lefties who through in the low 90's with an off speed pitch always have a chance for at least a LOOGY role. He has work to do, when he got promoted to FM his K% and BB% both went the wrong way - by a lot But it sounds like he recognizes that and knows where to improve. Hopefully he can do it.
  10. Its a big year for pitching prospects this year. Lots of A ball pitchers need to take that next step, Thorpe and Romero recover from their TJ and will Jay pan out as a starter? 1 - Gordon 2 - Stewart - I think this is mostly hopeful 3 - Polanco 4 - Jay 5 - Gonsalves 6 - Jorge 7 - Landa 8 - Walker 9 - Rosario 10 - Javier 11 - Thorpe 12 - Palacios 13 - Romero 14 - Arraez 15 - Wade 16 - Vielma 17 - Arias 18 - Wells 19 - Blankenhorn 20 - Ynoa
  11. The Twins value Plouffe enough to move Sano to the OF so you would think they would offer Plouffe a long term deal.
  12. CR outfield was disappointing last year. After Granite got promoted and Vavra went down, there wasn't much offense out of that group. I would've liked to have seen Wade get 20 or so games at A ball under his belt. The Kernels could've used his experienced bat in the lineup.
  13. I wonder why the Twins decided to keep him in E-Town for 64 games. Clearly he was too advanced for that level but they left him down there for what purpose? He hit .335/.453/.468 in college so anything under a .800 OPS at E-town would be a huge red flag.
  14. Fun List! Jay over Gordon and Kepler? Not sure I would do that. Jay as a Starter is a big big unknown. Rogers over Stewart and Burdi? - Seems high for a guy who is most likely destined for a LOOGY role.
  15. Sickles wrote that Garver has "work to do"to become proficient behind the plate. Last year he split time between C, 1B and DH at Fort Meyers. I wonder if the Twins start moving him around the diamond to see if he can't find a position, I am not sure if he can stick as catcher.
  16. I think he will stay in Extended Spring than go to GCL-Twins so he is close to the facility. If all goes right, he might be in Cedar Rapids around Late July. I think he would end his season there and to me it would be surprising if he is sent to the AFL in 2017. He is young and he needs to be kept in bubble wrap. I don't think it will be until 2017 until he is ready to start advancing. 2017 he would start at FM and end the year at AA. Then to the AFL if he still needs innings
  17. Ive been picking Travis Harrison to break out for the last two years..... 3rd times the Charm!
  18. You're blaming the players for the treatment of the minor leaguers and the commercial breaks? Thats an odd take. Owners have always and will always squeeze the revenue orange as tightly as they can. Commercial breaks, ticket prices, concessions and the like will increase no matter what CBA they agree to. Look at the NFL, owners get it all yet continue to destroy their game to chase another million while the fringe players who get hurt and destroy their bodies for the owners get very little.
  19. Clearly this was written before the Murphy trade as no way he is not in the Twins 2018 plans.
  20. ohhhh goodness.... Vielma's ceiling looks to be Pedro Florimon while Gordon is a potentially elite.
  21. The problem with drafting relievers from college is they have high effort deliveries and the wear and tear they go through is excessive. So its no surprise that injuries got in the way of development and Twins should've expected that when drafting. Its seems that if you draft a reliever you should keep him in the bullpen and push him quickly through - like they are doing with Burdi. Twins are not the only team drafting a lot of relievers.
  22. Sano and Arcia in the corners would be a horrible defensive OF. Those two would have to really mash to make that OF worthwhile.
  23. The only guy I am worried about losing is Jorge. Thankfully I don't see any national writers talking about him potentially being picked. In fact I see 0 Twins being discussed as potential picks.
  24. Sigh. Another SS prospect changes position because he isn't a shortstop. But this is different than Nishioka, Plouffe, Dozier, Michael & Polanco (probably). Santana has all the tools, his arm is good, nice speed, and nice range so...what happened here?
