  1. 1st - That does not make him well grounded. I am sure lots of insane talk this way and say similar things. 2nd- Do they coach players to say this kind of nonsense? Virtually every prospect interview they say something similar.
  2. Yup. Just like when they added Wheeler last year. They should have kept Gilmartin over him. I would bet 7 US dollars Dean is outrighted before September2016.
  3. That tells me that once again, Twins do not excell at self scouting. Gillmartin is a lefyt who did well vs LH hitters and he had a fine stint in the bullpen for the Mets as a left handed pitcher - something the Twins could've used in 2015. Dean is a lefty who doesn't dominate left handed batters - therefore not suited to a bullpen role and therefore not so valuable.
  4. The myth of Levi Michael's abilities continues. He hasnt played anything but 2B in the last 2 years. He turns 25 in 3 months, he hasn’t played above AA. There is no need to add him to the 40 man and lose someone else.
  5. I want to know how to pronounce that first name. LOCK-lan? That was my assumption. But I was told it was la-chlan by my pal who spent time in FM
  6. If Polanco could just play average SS he would be a top 50 prospect in all of baseball. Its too bad his glove isn't advanced enough to push him into the majors. If Ryan had to trade a prospect for a catcher, I would imagine Polanco and Walker might be trade chips.
  7. Maybe his D is good enough to make him a replacement if Gordon gets hurt, but at this point I am having a hard time seeing it. However, if his D is really that elite then you probably ranked him in the right spot.
  8. Man..people here are really high on Vielma...There are lots of light hitting good glove/no bat guys in the minors and I see him being organizational filler. Hopefully you are right and I am wrong
  9. Navarreto's size makes it less likely he sticks at catcher in the long term. He is a big dude
  10. Why do you have Blankenhorn so much higher than Trey Cabbage? Both young Corner IF, both high Draft picks Is it the power Blankenhorn showed?
  11. Don't be silly. We are only at #25. Yeah the top 20 prospects won't be a good as last year. But any list with Kepler, Buxton & Berrios is going to be good.
  12. I have seen varying reports on Lachlan Wells. FB up to 92 with a good slider. Is that right? Have you heard about how/what he throws?
  13. Posts like this make me scratch my head. He had 15 games at AA in '14....Its doubtful he gets protected and its double doubtful any team would take him in the rule 5 draft. Really? .... Dozier as a 24 year old at AA .318/.384/.502 351 PA Michael as a 24 year old at AA .267 .369 .434 264 PA Michael's prospect status is not a lost cause. He could turn it around and become a utility guy but lets face it, he won't make it to the team based on his glove so he better make the org notice him with this bat. And to date he hasn't done it. Not saying he won't but he hasn't yet. But to say he is ahead of Dozier? Thats just an odd take....
  14. Obviously true. But good velocity can be an equalizer if you are off. If you don't have velocity you have to have amazingly great control to be an ace. Kevin Slowly had nice control and had a few good years, but when he wasn't on, or if he ran into a tight zone, he struggled. If he could kick it up to 95 he might be considered an ace.
  15. My Goodness. Have you looked at either's minor league stats or are you just trolling? They are pretty dissimilar except for being a sweet swinging LH hitter with a decent eye at a plate. If he has the career of Mauer Twins got amazing value for his signing bonus and the scout who brought Kepler into the org deserves to be in the HOF. Mauer was on a HOF track before being derailed.
  16. I keep seeing this but I don't see a lot of basis. Its not often a MLB club takes minor league coaches and moves them to the MLB club unless there is a strong connection to the city.
  17. They have lots of older pitchers on their staff with the highest ave age in the league and offensively its a group that struggled. But I think these guys have a chance: Gordon Rosario Jorge Lamda
