  1. Adding to that, the Free Agent market next offseason is supposed to be a buyers market for SS again. Lots of free agents, fewer buyers. I think the odds of CC playing on his current contract in ‘23 are low, but not bad odds that it’s for the Twins. agree with you, I think the Twins would be the odds-on favorite too.
  2. Per FG, Jax had 4 relief appearances in 2021 and my recollection was that the Twins didn’t ask him to prep as a reliever until after the lockout. Agreed on the limited initial expectations, but it feels like we’ve seen some rapid transitions to the pen before that were successful. Then again, my lens might be rose-colored
  3. I like your train of thought. Through June Archer was trending better as the month progressed until his last start. Another start or two or progress would give me some comfort with him as a starter. Bundy on the other hand, scares the heck out of me. I don’t want to see him in the bullpen either. It seems there are good options internally as we see improving health with Ober, and Winder. I’d like to see a trade for the back of the bullpen type (as you suggested a couple of great but expensive options) and potentially promote or convert a minor leaguer. Maybe Sands could see some oomph on his fastball in the bullpen.
  4. I have such mixed feelings in regards to Miguel Sano 1 - His hitting was is under-valued by those who concentrated on the strikeouts. 2 - His fielding was is AWFUL 3 - He was accused of sexual assault in 2017 for an account that happened in 2015 and it got quickly forgotten, which still bothers me. 4 - There are better options on the roster including Luis Arraez who somehow became a passable first baseman in a couple of days. I guess I have written him off, even though I've found myself defending his bat, at times
  5. This is fair, and no I can’t…. but per the OP there are 5 relievers on the roster pitching once every 5 games anyways, 3 innings every 5 games is better than 1 every 5 games for a workload management standpoint.
  6. Agreed with the OP. I was absolutely befuddled by Soto’s call up. Also perplexed with all of the one inning relievers on the roster, and no swing man. I’d think Piggy-backing would be an ideal way to manage Archer/Bundy and the revolving AAA starters this team needs to more consistently score runs, and Kiriloff should be a key part of that
  7. Upon checking the bench on gamecast I says to myself: “what’s an Elliot Soto?” edit to add, I was also disappointed to see Sands get demoted. I was hoping he would stick as the swing man
  8. Agreed, but you almost never see major leaguer for major leaguer trades. prospects are the currency of trades, so it is understandable the knee jerk reactions.
  9. I had them at 90 wins too for similar reasons. This team went 5 and 4 against the Yankees, Rays and Blue Jays while absolutely decimated by injuries. they could gain some health and feast on the central some more and end the season strong, so I picked B. they might not be built for success in November, but a couple good bullpen pieces could get them pretty close.
  10. So you think they’ll go roughly 46 and 54 the rest of the season?
  11. Kiriloff plus Balazovic might do it. I would not want to give up Larnach. Gordon/Moran/Duffey would not be of much value to the Pirates, Duffey would probably be negative value
  12. These are human beings with medical conditions, not robots on periodic maintenance schedules. Rocco can only manage so much, and when Buxton’s knee swells up isn’t one of them. Neither is when to activate Correa off the IL, he might have some input on Correa’s scale up plan, but my assumption is the medical staff and Correa himself has some say there too. it’s a long season, and if the team can be on pace for 93 wins while being decimated by injuries and “incompetent management”, imagine what it’ll be like if we actually see a healthy team in September and October!
