  1. That says more about the Twins than Buxton’s contract relative to the league.
  2. Disregarding record, in the Runs scores column, they’re ranked 4th, season to date, and in the runs allowed, they’re ranked 4th in the AL that’s pretty good. This team hits well, fields really well, and pitching has been effective. Yes against lesser opponents, acknowledged. However the post season starts typically get shorter and the bullpen pitches more. this team needs some help in the bullpen, bullpen pieces can be found on the roster and traded for at a lower prospect cost than starters. with some health, and finding some relievers, this team could make a strong push in the post season. hopefully we get to see a strong showing against some tough competition
  3. Also fun, approximately 14 million of the 38 million Canadians live in the region between Toronto and Detroit. so 1/3 of Canadians live south of Minneapolis
  4. The Phillies have scored 230 runs, and allowed 229. This fits the narrative to me. TB, not sure… they’ve scored 210 runs, allowed 200. That’s middle of the pack on both. Twins have scored 224 runs, allowed 196 Yankees 237 scored 152 allowed, man that’s tough!
  5. I was on the swim team in higschool. Today I run, typically 4 miles 3 days per week, long run (7-10 miles) on the weekend. I am training for a half marathon in the fall (my 5th). Some day I might run a full marathon. dang meetings during the Twins game
  6. To that end, Sanchez has been hot lately and needs to be in the lineup. He should DH or catch most days. Jeffers has been slumping, but his fielding is so good. Thinking of scale of impact of catcher fielding: Jeffers has 286 put outs in 267 innings at catcher, 1.07 put outs per inning. Carlos Correa has 36 put outs in 295 innings at SS. .122 put outs per inning. It doesn’t weight the impact of put outs. There’s no leverage score. However if we think of how important up the middle fielding is by the number of times a fielder touches the ball, the only player that touches the ball more than the catcher, is the pitcher. Sanchez has been ripping the cover off lately, he needs to be in the lineup, probably best to be DH frequently because of Jeffers’ value fielding.
  7. Though Garv is still a very good hitter, not so much value as a DH
