  1. Overall, this lineup is pretty patient across the board. Right, and they feed off each other. Last year with the terrible start everyone was trying to do to much. This year it's more like just let it happen. And things have been having a way of happening. So much better to watch so far, it could be a fun season.
  2. Arraez should be fun for those Ft Myers folks. I heard Dougie giving the team his talk on what he wants out of them last week. They all listened intently. It was all the usual stuff you can imagine but the one thing he really stressed was to be on time. I know players love to play for him so I could see them having some success this season.
  3. Well I missed it driving from Tenn. to Wisc. I must of clicked the radio 200 times trying to find any baseball and found none as no Chicago teams played due to rain, and it rained all the way so I figured there was a good chance the Twins were rained out. How nice to finally check into a motel and see they won, and Santana got the win. There were many games last year he pitched well and was left with nothing. So I'll get home tonight, and no game, bummer.
  4. I heard today that Hughes will pitch tomorrow in a minor league game, but source not so trust worthy.
  5. As we were down at .the minor fields this morning a cart came by with Parks and a catchers gear. Thought maybe they'd be playing down here. And then the word. Talk about a bunch of pissed off fans
  6. If they loaded everyone's vehicle on the transport they'll need another to take it to Rochester, NY.
  7. I was told the decision would be made before they got on the bus this afternoon. I didn't hear it. But Mejia walked off the field without a glove and went into the locker room early, and Duffy came in later, but still before most of the other pitchers. Also the busiest day of the spring today as the players cars were loaded on the two transports and left town. I was tempted to ask Duffy if his was on but knew better, lol.
  8. I think Gimenez is a lock. Vargas likely to the DL. Yesterday he called down to the minors for his buddy, a worker, for a ride to the trainers room, he couldn't walk that far. Xrays showed nothing but he's really hurting.
  9. Both Kintzler and Belisle started games today in the minors. Two innings each. Kintzler had a rough time of it I felt.
  10. I see Park as the dh and Vargas either being released or back at AAA. I think Mejia has a real good shot at the rotation. The rest looks likely.
  11. Gimenez will be back up as it goes now. At least he can get a hit once in awhile. Murphy may never make it.
  12. I'm prettty positive there was only one out when Breslow got the fly ball down the left field line, foul. Santana had no business trying for that ball and it was the left fielders all the way and looked like Santana called him off. Danny makes the catch it's a tie game as his momentum is going out. Left fielder would have had a fairly short throw home, and the runner was tagging. Nice comeback by May though, he got himself a spot last night.
  13. It is hard to see Sano struggling to hit. He's yet to get a hit this spring, as is Vargas, and Kepler. Today Kepler stayed on the field a good half hour at least after the rest had headed off, with Chad Allen, first hitting off a tee, and then Allen tossing to him. Chad gave him a lot of positive feedback. None of these guys like to fail and are doing all they can think of to get it ready, it's not easy.
  14. It's about time we hit the ball around a little bit. So far this spring it's just been blah down here with very little to get inthused about.
  15. LOL, I was just going to say Doc could throw out 2000 easy, and here you come!
  16. Berrios threw off the mound today, his first day in camp. He had people oohing and ahhing with his breaking ball. He looks almost ready to go.
