  1. Hopefully against the Yankees it's: Game 1 - Maeda Game 2 - Pineda Game 3 (if necessary) - Hill/Odorizzi I don't trust Berrios in a big game vs the yanks
  2. Yankees are going to pass the Twins in the standings. I can't think of a worse first round scenario for the Twins than to face the Yankees in their home stadium the way they're swinging the bats right now. Rocco, if you're listening, tank the rest of the way. Face the Sox, Rays or A's.
  3. I think right now Buxton should leadoff, but once Arraez comes back I think he should take over the duty. Buxton has been extremely impressive right now, but the only thing that concerns me for him being in the leadoff role is the inability to take a walk. Arraez does a good job taking pitches and working the count when he's going good. I think you swap Arraez for Buxton in the order. I also think having Buxton batting before Sano and Donaldson would be nice. I'd go with: 1. Arraez (2B) 2. Polanco (SS) 3. Cruz (DH) 4. Rosario (LF) 5. Buxton (CF) 6. Donaldson (3B) 7. Sano (1B) 8. Kepler (RF) 9. Jeffers © Arraez and Polanco are the table setters with Cruz and Rosario providing some right-handed and left-handed pop, respectively. Buxton can also provide pop and he can also be a guy to get on base before some big swingers. If he gets on base, he can distract the pitcher with his speed, and that could force the pitcher to throw less off-speed stuff to Donaldson and Sano.
  4. Kepler needs to be brought down in the lineup. A leadoff hitting shouldn't be batting .210 with a .700 OPS
  5. Yeah I don't know why Rocco is so in love with Kepler batting leadoff. He's batting .215 with an OPS barely above .700. When he was injured the Twins were 9-2 with Polanco and Wade sharing leadoff duties. I think Kepler needs to get booted out of that spot. I 100% agree with Buxton batting first. He has a better AVG than Kepler, an OPS almost .1 higher, blazing speed, and he'll average more plate appearances, which gives the Twins more chances for him to create havoc on the base paths. Also the Twins need to fire the hitting coach after this year. It's mind blowing for an offense to go from one of the best offenses of all time to barely being able to score more than 2 runs a game. Bring back James Rowson.
  6. Cruz was not worth his paycheck today. Also I don't know why Rocco continues to use Rogers in high leverage situations this year. It seems like he blows it every time
  7. I hope the Twins can keep him around even after he's done playing. His presence means a lot to this team, especially as a mentor to the younger hitters.
  8. I know Rocco probably doesn't want to hurt feelings, but I think some players need a wake up call. Call up some prospects and bench some of the regulars. Show them that their roster spot could be in jeopardy and that might light a fire under their ass.
  9. It's just so silly. Some people actually spend their time to make a big deal out of things like a sports logo. A logo that nobody thinks is offensive. These people need a hobby.
  10. Offense has looked so bad. I'm quickly losing patience with Arraez, Sano, and Garver.
  11. I think the Twins did the right thing with this trade. I believe Graterol had a couple of years left on his development until he could possibly reach his true potential, and right now the Twins are in Win-It-All mode. They wanted a reputable, proven starter and that's what they got in Maeda. Could Graterol develop into being a star ace for the Red Sox? Possibly, but I like that the Twins are finally making impact moves that improve their chances to win in the current year.
  12. I think it's hard to make a case of Gordon being overrated or underrated due to the fact that he hasn't been in a single major league game. Sure his minor league numbers aren't all that impressive, but there have been many cases of guys performing much better in the majors compared to their minor league numbers.
  13. I can't wait to watch the FSN footage of Rocco handing out participation awards to the players in the clubhouse
  14. Dobnak and the rest of the guys can say that they didn't have nerves these last 2 games, but I don't believe them in the slightest. Especially the guys that haven't been in a postseason atmosphere before. I 100% believe this is psychological, and the Twins just don't have enough guys on their roster that are mentally tough enough to deal with the pressure right now in order to win. Twins NEED to bring in at least 1 starter and a couple more relievers in the offseason that have had big time postseason pressure put on them before.
  15. If the Yankees aren't as good as the Twins have made them appear to be than what does that make the Twins?
  16. Schoop should be in the lineup. I know he hasn't been extremely productive down the stretch, but he has the best numbers against Tanaka with 3 HRs against him and a .290 average. Take Schoop out once Tanaka's day is finished and replace him with Arraez. Some of Rocco's managing decisions so far this series have been questionable.
  17. Rocco was still going to use the pitchers that he did even if the things you said did happen. Stashak would've still given up those HRs and Gibson would've still been Gibson.
  18. I think the Twins should have him start game 1 and take him out at the first sign of trouble. He's been the Twins most consistent starter this year so having him get a chance at 2 games (game 1 and potentially game 4 or 5) would be good. You mentioned he hasn't had great career success at Yankee stadium, but he gave the Twins 6 innings of shutout baseball there this year. Keep that trend going, Jake.
  19. Yeah Perez shouldn't be on the post season roster. Add Smeltzer instead.
  20. Nice day for the lesser known names. LaMarre with 2 hits including an HR, Wade with a clutch, gutsy take of 3rd base and a hit in the 12th, and of course, the hero of the game, Ronald Torreyes.
