  1. I'll believe it when I see him not blow every other save opportunity like he did last year.
  2. Give Rooker a lot of reps at 1B this spring and make him the LF starter/1B backup. I'd rather have the 6'3 Rooker at 1B than the 5'9 Astudillo.
  3. I think a B+ is generous given Rogers and Robles struggles last year along with the unpredictability of Alcala and Stashak.
  4. Cruz projected .840 OPS? .257 AVG? I think the White Sox tampered with these projections. The dude was raking it in at ages 38 and 39. One more year isn't going to slow him down that much. I think he's good for another SS season with a top-15 MVP finish. Some of the FanGraphs projections I've seen have been a little wacky. I mean Alvarez basically missed all of 2020 and he's projected to hit 37 HRs with a .940 OPS? Odd
  5. I believe the weight that the projections give Max's 2019 stats is a little too much. I hope he proves me wrong though.
  6. You could look at any team's prospects over the years and find some that have had injuries that held back their minor league development
  7. ACL tears aren't fun, but he's a young guy and will bounce back quick. Looking forward to seeing him play in 2022. People can moan all they want about the Twins being cursed or whatever, but injuries unfortunately happen to every team.
  8. I want Larnach to be a big time stud just so I can laugh in Keith Law's face for not including him in his top 100.
  9. I look at it this way. It's a tie game in the 8th inning and you need a reliable arm to come out of the bullpen a provide a shutdown inning. Who do you turn to? Right now the only 2 I would trust in that situation are Duffey and Colome. Rogers really imploded a lot in important games last season, Robles had over a 10 ERA last season, and the rest of the options are young guys with very little MLB experience or arms that are trying to reboot their careers. The bullpen is not deep. The Twins need more reliable, experienced BP pitchers.
  10. Honestly looking at that bullpen lineup doesn't give me a ton of confidence. I'm not too worried about Duffey or Colome, but everyone else on that list seems risky. I think another above-average arm is needed. Also Sano really needs to step it up if he's going to be hitting in the 4th or 5th spot this year. He can't repeat the performance he had last year. If he's still striking out a ton I would consider moving him down to 7th and having Buxton and Garver/Jeffers hitting ahead of him. And if Sano continues to struggle further down the order I think a change at 1B might be necessary. Having him as a league leader in Ks with a .200 BA and .750 OPS is not what the team needs. Bring up Rooker or Kirilloff and plug them in 1B.
  11. I was replying to other guy's name that started with D, but yeah I agree with you about Kepler. I was just saying that I believe Larnach will have better numbers in his future career than Kepler has given the Twins.
  12. Ok. I believe *he will* have a higher floor and ceiling than Kepler. Happy?
  13. I disagree with Max being underrated. In fact, I think the community overrates him greatly. His 2019 standout year(a year that many players had career years due to juiced balls) had him hitting a whopping 36 HRs while racking in 90 RBIs. A great .855 OPS, but a pretty underwhelming .252 AVG for a leadoff hitter. Max saw a huge regression in 2020 and to be honest, I think his numbers in 2020 aren't too far off his true value. He's a career .237 hitter with an average OPS of .763 during his 6 years with the Twins. Is he worth his contract right now? Sure. Will he be worth an extension? I don't think so. I think he is a good candidate to be traded and replaced with Trevor Larnach, who I believe has a much higher floor and ceiling than Kepler.
  14. I like seeing Sabato on there. Also that outfield list is stacked, going to be a lot of healthy competition there.
  15. I like it. Low price and the Twins don't have to start the season relying on Dobnak every 5th game. Gives Dobnak some time to work on things in St.Paul and when there is an injury to a starter he can take the 20 minute drive to Minneapolis.
  16. I really think the Twins need to move on from Astudillo. Garver and Jeffers will be able to handle the catching duties as a duo and I don't want to see their ABs diluted with having Tortuga in the mix. Take off Astudillo and add Kirilloff. Alex the starting LF with Rooker being an corner OF backup and 1B backup
  17. It doesn't seem like he has overpowering stuff that would give him a bullpen role. He has done great in the minors as a starter so I think the Twins should just roll with that for now. I think the Twins will give him a shot as the 5th starter this season at some point.
  18. I was very critical of the front office at the beginning of the offseason, but I'm very impressed with their decisions recently. Making great additions and keeping Cruz.
  19. PECOTA still believing in Sano and giving a higher projected DPC+ to Wade compared to Kirilloff and Larnach tells me everything I need to know about these projections. I'm going to completely disregard them.
  20. I'm putting my life savings into Kirilloff Stock. Alex to the moon. Also I'm short selling Rosario.
  21. Oh great. Rosario is definitely the kind of player who will be motivated to absolutely destroy his previous team at all costs. It had to be done, but I really don't like seeing him in the central.
  22. To be honest I'm really not all that curious because his guess is as good as ours with how well Larnach is going to do as a Twin. All he's going off is past college and minor league stats as well as looking at previous prospects that are comparable that have either succeeded or failed. There's no measurement of the prospects response to the pressure that comes with the MLB or a measurement of how susceptible they might be to future injury.
  23. The Twins' history with picking pitchers in the first round has been pretty iffy. They probably should just use that high pick on position players from now on.
  24. Not sure why so much attention is being given to this Keith Law guy. He's obviously had prospects in his lists that have flopped, and he's had prospects not in his lists that have done a lot better than the ones at the top of his lists. Time will tell which prospects pan out, not some guy on twitter who is just speculating.
