  1. Not only Polanco, but Kepler, Sano, and Cave as well. I think some roster shakeups might need to happen soon.
  2. Cave should be DFA'd. Waste of a roster spot that could be given to either Kirilloff or Larnach. There's no minor league season yet so might as well get them some MLB reps.
  3. I don't agree with the gripes over the bullpen. Sure I don't trust Rogers late in important games, but all in all the BP has been pretty solid so far this season. All loses have been because of the stupid extra inning rule.
  4. Well all is right in the world. Cruz hitting homeruns, Twins losing in extra innings, Rogers blowing games for the Twins. Also Polanco should be batting last until he gets his stuff figured out. Simmons looks like a leadoff guy right now
  5. The Twins don't have anybody in the minors that is an immediate threat to overtake Sano at 1B, so really they don't have any choice but to just wait and hope that it's just his annual slow start. Hopefully when the Saints start up they have Kirilloff playing a lot of first base, because that's where I think he'll end up being on the major league roster.
  6. Yeah I think this is going to happen. I know a lot of people think that it's going to be Kirilloff up first between himself and Larnach, but I think Larnach might be a more advanced hitter than Kirilloff right now. Either way, the Saints OF is loaded with talent and that intra-squad competition is always good.
  7. Very impressed by Simmons so far. Of course his defense is top tier, but also he's been an on base machine.
  8. So far the wins have been very decisive and the losses have been close and could easily have turned into wins. Frustrating game, but the Twins still look solid.
  9. Rooker should be first in line. Make Arraez the temp 3rd baseman and platoon Cave/Garlick in LF with Rooker as a corner OF backup.
  10. I think it's hard to look at Kirilloff's performance this spring and his lack of at bats last season and come to the conclusion that he should have the roster spot over Garlick.
  11. Garlick has had more at-bats in the majors than Rooker, plus I would suggest looking at Garlick's 2019 minor league numbers if you are putting that much weight on Rooker's minor league numbers. Garlick AAA 2019: 81 Games, 304 PA, 23 HR, 59 RBI, .314/.382/.675
  12. Bold is an understatement. I'd go more along the lines of batsh*t crazy.
  13. People seem to gloss over the fact that he did post a .840 OPS for the Dodgers in 2019 in 48 AB. Sure its a small sample size, but who's to say if he had the chance to play more those numbers wouldn't be better, especially since his 2019 minor league numbers were fantastic. Sure he had a bad 2020, but everybody else is getting a pass for that year so why not him as well. I honestly think Garlick is going to surprise everybody and be the Twins best OF this season
  14. I love the Garlick move. He really looked the most comfortable at the plate all spring and contributed the most out of all the outfielders. Competition brings the best out of (mostly) everybody. Rooker will be up in no time. I'll give it a couple weeks before Buxton is hurt with something.
  15. Twins don't need 3 catchers. Garver and Jeffers will do fine splitting the duties. Take Astudillo off the roster and add Garlick. I don't trust that Buxton will stay healthy and I don't trust Kepler to perform offensively right away. This gives more OF options.
  16. I'd go with: 1. Polanco 2. Donaldson 3. Cruz 4. Buxton 5. Sano 6. Garver / Jeffers 7. Kepler 8. Rooker / Garlick 9. Simmons If the Twins go down 1-2-3 in the first inning, I'd rather have Buxton lead off the next inning. If he gets on that creates a lot of havoc for the opposing team, plus he also brings the same power threat Max has. He just needs to work on laying off some bad pitches.
  17. I'm very bearish on Kepler. I believe 2019 was an outlier year in terms of offensive production really all across the league, and I think we'll see Max continue to put up numbers similar to 2016-2018, where he hit around .230 with an OPS+ around 95. What continues to puzzle me is Rocco's persistent with putting Kepler as leadoff. A career .237 hitter should not be leading off. However I think that Rocco will finally come to his senses and put either Polanco or Arraez in the 1 spot. Also if Kepler's spring struggles continue into the regular season, and if the Twins care about putting the best team possible on the field, I think Garlick or a prospect should be given a chance in right field.
  18. With Arraez in the lineup - Arraez leading off With Arraez not in the lineup - Polanco leading off
  19. I could see the Twins trading away Wallner for some pitching at the trade deadline
  20. I'm not in favor of a contract extension right now. Buxton has yet to prove he can stay consistently healthy and at the same time provide consistent offensive output. We know he is a great defender, but that is really the only part of his game that has been steady over the years. A long term extension would be extremely risky. I think they should evaluate his performance after this year and make a decision based on that.
