  1. Rocco will yank him after 3 most likely. Hope Sanchez is up to the task. He can hold it down for awhile to keep us interested until Pagan blows it later in the game
  2. Pitch around Judge either way at that point. He should be pitched around every at bat this series with the way the rest of their current lineup has hit.
  3. Rocco lost it when he pulled a pitcher that was cruising in Varland. Then he had to burn up the rest of his bullpen. Now we will have to punt this game if we even keep it close because we will be running out the bad part of our bullpen. I’m ready for anyone at this point to take over for him. He has lost us 5-6 games at least this season.
  4. He made up for mistake with a great play to get the out. But Rocco putting him in here is just more to add to his resume. I like the kid playing, but why are we putting him in cold with very little MLB experience in this tight game?
  5. Seen this kind of game lots of times this year. Even though I have faith in Jax, this is the same way most of our losses have played out this year. Starter has done well, Rocco pulls em, bullpen gives up multiple runs and we can't score on the opposing teams bullpen. Hopefully they can today, we'll see.
  6. Did you see him look up at his family there and smile. Proud as a peacock. I would have let him try here. Should be pitching around Judge either way and he has done well. Roccooooooooo
  7. And then he calms right down and goes straight after their leadoff hitter. ?
  8. If there are runners on I don't give Judge a pitch to hit no matter who is on the hill.
  9. He's actually been pretty efficient. Ahead in most counts I'd say. To not let him back for another inning would be terrible. That said, I don't trust Rocco so who knows.
  10. Most likely he burns up Jax, Duran, Lopez in this first game. Then uses the JV for the next one, therefore basically forfeiting. Honestly, Varland has been efficient. He has to go 6 or better if he stays on this pace. Even Rocco should oblige, there is no book on this kid yet.
  11. No doubt, that's twice this game I think the Twins could have had gotten on, had they hustled hard out of the box. Urshella earlier and now this one.
  12. Why? 60 pitches after 4. If he ends the 5th with 75-80, let him keep rolling. Especially if we add on here this inning.
  13. I love the quick pace this guy works at. Not sure if he is just nervous, or this is normal, but baseball needs more guys like this. Much more enjoyable to watch.
  14. Good day to take advantage of this lineup. Let's put up 5-6 and see what this kid can do. He looks sharp so far. Not sure what the plan with him is today, but hoping it is results based and not some strict inning count.
  15. I agree, they have done a good job in finding and securing those type of guys to become end of the rotation starters. What I would like to see is/are a few true stud starters mixed in every couple years. However they get them, draft, trade, etc. Building/Developing guys from your organization that can profile as #1/2 pitchers is what sets the good smaller market teams from the rest IMO. Tampa Bay is a great example.
  16. I want to see Varland. Not sure if he is ready, but there's a chance this guy could help us down the stretch. Be an excellent candidate to piggyback some of these short starts and give us a 2-3 inning stint.
  17. I am not sure, but without question, the Twins will get the Yankees back on their feet when they go out there. Whether that means they sweep us or take 3 out of 4, this is almost a given IMO. Yankees could be 20 games below .500 and the Twins would still find a way to be scared of them.
  18. In that situation? 100%. It is the last inning and you'd have had runners on 2nd and 3rd for the 2 and 3 hitters. This is playoff baseball at this point. All we have to do is ground the ball out to the right side or hit a pop fly and we tie the game. And a hit wins it in walkoff fashion. Sorry, but this is why I will never trust Rocco to win us games. Almost every manager in the game puts the bunt on there, in that exact situation.
  19. With his speed and defensive versatility he is looking more and more like a core player on this roster rather than someone on the fringes. Plus he is fun to watch play. Starting to really grow on me
  20. Is Gordon finally realizing all the potential the Twins saw when they drafted him? He has kind of had a fantastic July and August here. Do we just have a late bloomer on our hands?
  21. Great news. Sounds like Winder, Ober and Larnach are close too. The Calvary is coming. Let’s finish this thing strong
  22. No way. The only reason I’d even let him into a game is if the season is over and we have no chance. Even then it’s not worth it. Let’s see what he has next year. If I’m being honest though I’m counting on very little #5-6 type starter if we’re lucky. Hope I’m wrong though
