  1. Ryan running out of gas for the season. I hope he can pull out of it soon. This has to be the most innings pitched he has had. Throwing grapefruits up there tonight this game is basically over/
  2. Couldn’t play any better for me as a fan anyway. If that is my coach too I am more in his corner than ever knowing that he has some fight in him for his team and isn’t just a wet blanket. Do we think Gardy would have just rolled over on a call like that? Do you think any manager would? To me, I think he almost HAD to react that way, and I am glad he did.
  3. Been like that all series. Mind blowing that these guys don’t know what most all high school kids get right
  4. Terrible call and first time I have respected Rocco for awhile. He looked right into the cameras and told MLB to F off
  5. It's mental with those guys at some point I think. They've blown so many this season. Duffey for sure is not trusting his stuff so he gets behind in counts and has to grove. Pagan just doesn't command the strike zone very well. One of those smoked balls yesterday came on an 0-2 pitch. Come on, you are a major leaguer, 0-2's shouldn't sit middle in thigh high. Agree on the lineup. Aareaz, Correa and Buck are really struggling right now. And let's be honest, if we don't get offensive production out of that group, it's going to be hard to win anything, especially when you starting outfield looks like the St. Paul Saints lineup.
  6. Lots of stuff here. Yes, we only scored a couple and our offense is slumping right now. But here's the deal. Do we all think around here that in the playoffs you are going to be putting up 7-8 runs a game? Because that's not how it works. When you face a pitcher like the kid last night that is nasty and has great stuff, you have to expect you aren't going to put up crooked numbers every other inning. 3-4 runs HAS to win some games. Not all of them, but guess what, the other team's pitchers get paid to get you out too. Flat out, Gray should have pitched the 6th, Megill the 7th, Jax the 8th and Lopez the 9th. I bet the game sits at about 2-2 if you run these guys out there. Now win it. 4-5 innings for starting pitchers just doesn't work. We've seen the story over and over and over and over and over and over. I don't know how many times Rocco is going to yank starters early. Gray was at 95 pitches or something. BIG DEAL. Run him up to 110 or so and if he needs help to get 1 out in the 6th, fine. We are in a pennant race and have 2 team nipping at your heels! Every game matters! There is no world that a team can count on 4-5 relievers/pitchers every single night and expect to have success. There is just that much more of a chance that one or more of them is off. Until Rocco and his clipboard can figure this out, it will be more of the same. Yes we upgraded part of our bullpen, but the way Rocco uses the heck out of them, we need every single member out there to be high end guys. We don't have that. No team does.
  7. It isn’t that great. Little to no movement and he shows the ball really early. There is a reason he gets hit that hard.
  8. DFA after game. Bring up any old wet blanket. Take Rocco’s toys away so he doesn’t get hurt. Make him use our better arms
  9. Rocco you rock head. Give him all the help you want and he just can’t help using this meltdown master
  10. This is a great article and I love to hear stuff like this. Correa seems to be ultra self aware and understands all the workings of baseball. If his agent wasn't Boras, I would say this kind of article makes it look really good that he stays. Not sure that guy(Boras) will let him though.
  11. Lopez! Whew! He looked good. Mostly strikes, soft contact with guys being late and a K. Exciting to have this guy.
  12. Twins - 40 Indians - 30 Sux - 30 I don't see this huge talent disparity that everyone here claims they have over everyone in the division. Who exactly are we talking about? They might be equal, but substantially better? I don't see it. I will take Buxton, Correa, Miranda and Aareaz over any position player on their roster. Their pitching is better, I will give you that. They have some nice starters. Position player wise though, I see them as about average, maybe slightly above.
  13. Yes, I'm with you, but I am looking towards the playoffs if we make it.(I think we will) Gray, Ryan, Mahle Long relief - Archer, Bundy, Jax, Duran, Lopez, Theilbar, Fulmer, Pagan, Duffey I can live with that and it is a heck of a sight better than what it looked like before yesterday.
  14. And for 2 months of a 40 year old DH. Stole this kid.
  15. His ceiling, IMO is that of a #2 type starter. But I also think his floor is high. I see him as no worse than a very solid #4 guy. He's young and misses bats. That is the most important thing. Guys that miss bats like he does generally profile as middle to top of the rotation guys.
  16. You don't trade a stud like that when you are getting back a utility player prospect. Especially in first place. Heck 3 weeks of Correa's play is worth more than the kind of guy they would have got back most likely. You also have to remember, yes, he can opt out, but he is still signed here for next year. That chance alone that he will play here is worth 10x more than any B level prospect they would have gotten back.
  17. We will take him. And for nothing basically. Not sure but looks like he is having a nice season. More arms. Now let the DFA train begin...
  18. This FO is aggressive without being stupid. Both of these players have controllable years left and we gave up redundant prospects or guys that were blocked or a long ways away from the show. Plus on what planet would Terry Ryan have signed CC or done stuff like trade his first round draft choice for a win now pitcher in Gray. Very happy so far and refreshing from the penny pinching hoard your prospect ways of the past.
  19. This is a high end arm. A once top prospect in their system that throws hard, with good spin and has figured things out to an extent. For a couple of maybes that play on the corner or 2B that are blocked in the org. These are not top 100 prospects(close maybe). Market rate.
  20. Why? We have no pitching for this year or next. We have Miranda and they will resign Urshela. Plus Polanco and Aaraez. This is a good trade. Who cares about redudant corner players. Corners in the minors aren't worth much unless they hit a TON. Middle players and high end arms win games.
  21. 98 mph sinker. 2.5 years left of control. Quantity but not high quality pieces leaving our system. This was a really good trade. Like the arm.
