Gibson was still pitching to a Trout-less Angels lineup. It's like pitching to the Twins without Sano. Actually, considerably worse. It's not a lineup that is going to scare you. Let's see how Kyle fares against Baltimore. Their season is going down the drain, but they still have dangerous offensive players. They have 6 guys with 12 or more HR.
So, it sounds like Adrianza is coming off the DL tomorrow. For whom remains to be seen. I suppose if the Twins don't burn through the pen tonight, it could be a pitcher. Hildenberger would seem to be the most likely candidate, though hardly deserving.
The 26th man is one player eligible for both games. Teams cannot change the 26th man between games. Of course, nothing prevents other roster transactions between games. But in having Gee be the 26th man, he could pitch in either game. It's highly unlikely he (or anyone) would pitch in both. But Jorge is definitely only going to pitch in the one game.
I think using Jorge as the 26th man tomorrow is poor roster management. He's only going to pitch in one of the games. It should have been Dillon Gee. Jorge could have been called up to replace someone else after game 1. Vargas perhaps. Then send him down after game two and bring up Granite or Garver for a week. It's unfortunate that Busenitz was sent down, but realistically unavoidable.
