  1. Turley is still under 60 pitches and seems to have hit a groove. He might go 7. That would be huge.
  2. And after 6 it was 4.32. That's WAY better than Gibson's after 6 starts. By like 3-4 runs.
  3. Yeah, because the Twins have a long history of eating $39,000,000 in salary.
  4. Hmmm, not sure how you justify that statement. He looked serviceable enough through 6 starts. And what exactly should the Twins have done with Hughes if not have him in the rotation from day one? Have him in the pen? And who exactly would have been starting instead? A free agent? Do you know who the top free agent starting pitcher was last year? 800 year old Bartolo Colon.
  5. How many times has Rosario been thrown out on the bases this year? 5? 6? Down 4-0. Bad decision.
  6. Turley might be left out to be his own long man for awhile. His pitch count is still in good shape. The Twins have to get at least 5 from Turley. 6 would be fantastic.
  7. This is the first game I have seen Turley pitch live. I didn't see the game last week. I think Turley's repertoire might play better as a reliever. He would probably be at 95-96. The curve is okay, but a little more break would be nice.
  8. Just a hunch it has something to do with him being from Tennessee.
  9. A play like that illustrates the absurdity of having an on deck circle in this day and age. Every stadium now has a cage probably ten feet from the dugout.
  10. Just saw on the crawl that Victor Martinez was placed on DL with irregular heartbeat.
  11. There is a rule that a player is supposed to make reasonable effort to avoid HBP.
  12. Prospects usually don't spend much time in AAA on the way up. It is usually for guys that fill in in case of injury or poor performance at the MLB level. Out of a typical 25 man AAA roster, maybe 3 or 4 or MAYBE 5 are prospects w/o any previous MLB experience.
  13. Exactly. Why sign them? Give your own minor league players a shot first. This kind of dumpster diving is what Terry Ryan was criticized for. Only Falvey is compounding it by using these dumpster finds in regular season games that actually count. Ryan did nearly all of his garbage digging in the offseason. Spring training usually weeded out the worst ones.
  14. Wilk, Haley. Jury is still out on Turley. The list is long, but certainly not distinguished.
  15. The offense is real. I really don't think anyone is playing over their heads, other than maybe Sano slightly. The pitching staff is barely holding on IMO. It seems on the brink of implosion every night. Think what kind of a disaster a month long absence by Santana or Duffey would be. IMO, you can't have that level of dependence on two pitchers and sustain success over a 162 game season.
  16. So 3 recent Falvey signees basically crapped the bed last night for Rochester. I thought he was the guy that was supposed to know pitchers. His track record this year is terrible.
  17. 9 pitches. 9 strikes. 3 outs. Nicely done. So, what were your favorite Alex Wimmers memories? Might want to share them now. I suspect that after the game, he will be a memory.
  18. IMO Belisle and Wimmers can both be DFA. Next!!! At some point maybe it will be Busenitz or Hildenberger. There aren't many left down there to try. Edit: Rochester is off today. Hildenberger threw over 30 pitches Sunday. Busenitz just 15.
  19. No really, he can't be. Wimmers does not have the ability to get MLB hitters out with any kind of regularity. 25 pitches already and he's gotten 3 outs.
