  1. It’s a phase. A few baseball clubs found success by having a close start a game. I don’t mind the experimentation. Wow, I just wrote a sentence that involved the Twins’ organization experimenting.
  2. WWBD. or,what would Baltimore, the currently worst team in MLB do? They’d have first choice at the waiver wire. Would Jay be an improvement? Probably.
  3. Over his last ten games, Vargas is hitting.432 with 5 jacks and 16 RBIs. Small sample size, but whatever he’s doing, let’s get Sano doing the same. Is Vargas on the 40 man and will se see him September 4th?
  4. My vote is C+. Might I ask who would be preferred as a replacement?
  5. This is an excellent point. Given that the Twins get an F for player development, its a good question to ask what role each member of the Twins' organization has played in the "total system failure".
  6. Touché, Sir. Touché. I'll be more specific. Might someone on this site provide me information an Jose Quezada?
  7. I agree with what you wrote. I was just thinking about 2019. But beyond that, your points are well taken
  8. Strange suggestion, but perhaps consider shutting Gibson down for the season. If, and I mean if, a pitcher only has so many innings in them in their career, I'd rather they be used in upcoming years. And the starts could be used for the AA/AAA/AAAA pitchers mentioned above.
  9. Kennys Vargas also hot a homer over the "batter's eye". I think it was early (May) in 2017 or '16. But I remember the broadcast. Play-by-play: But he needs to show he can hit <<crack>> Color commentator: That will help.
  10. The “dabble around the plate” reminds me of Gibson up until last year. I hope it won’t take him many trips back to the minors, as it did Gibson, before he gets the message to trust his stuff and throw strikes.
  11. I see him as a 1B. I can’t see a sell low trade for Bux. As for Kepler, well, I can admit that I’ve always been wrong on Home. Can anyone, please, explain why we we were all writing a year ago about his inability to hit lefties, while this year he can’t hit righties?
  12. I’m worried that a jump fromA ball to the show would affect his confidence. I would recommend a half 2019 as a Lookout. Maybe fall of ‘19? I guess I am a pessimist on this site, but I don’t see the Twins contending in’19. But he 20’s should be roaring. See what I did there?
  13. I’m confused. Why would they trade or release Gibson? His arbitration number will be high, much well below a comparable salary for a free agent starter. I believe, despite years of doubt, that Gibson is a legit #3.
  14. Last night's horrible start saved the Twins $12 million. Again, looking at the predicted salaries for 2019, the Twins will have a LOT of money. As I said on a previous thread, after a RH hitting 3B, the next two FA targets should both be relievers.
  15. So, might we expect all 15 players who are on the 40 man but not currently on the 25 man MLB roster to be called up by September 8th?
  16. "Ben Rortvedt drove in Alex Kirilloff". Now there's a sentence I'd like to read for the next ten years!
  17. Fernando Romero for the month of September. It might be a good way to get is "feet wet". And it will keep his innings pitched down.
  18. Gibson is having a wonderful year. I was merely suggesting that a contending team could use him as there fourth starter
  19. And hope, and pray and say Amen. I wanted to believe that there were 2 or 3 or even 4 starters who were oh so close. I believe their combined ERA is over 8.00 and their appearances netted 5 games below. Let me ask-- who might be the starting rotation on opening day 2019?
