  3. Re: the Elizabethton game. Nice to see Fidel hasn't given up on his major league dream, even at this late stage...
  4. I concur with all those moves, and they've been echoed out here long enough. What I don't get, is that such things are glaringly obvious to even the most casual fan, and have been for a while now- and the fact that none of them have even been tried yet is mind-boggling.
  5. I like Baldelli, I think he's done a pretty good job, but we're in the thick of a pennant race now, and things like game management have to be adjusted. It's not April or May anymore. This is the time for games we need to win, not lessons we need to learn. Berrios should have been pulled after those first couple of runners got on. Period. Showing confidence, whatever, be damned. That's just bad management. It kind of goes along with the question of why 34 home runs and .333 OPB is in the leadoff spot, and 3 home runs and .405 OBP is hitting 5th in the order, at this late date. Those hitters need to be switched, like a month and a half ago. The fact that this management team missed out on both Stroman and Minor at the deadline is coming back to bite us, hard. Good luck with all the 40-man decisions at the end of this season, and watch us lose some guys for nothing that we could have dealt for real help this year. Or maybe I'm just being a little pessimistic...
  6. Welcome to Twins Daily. I'm launching a Go Fund Me page for you, payable only in acorns. See you again soon, we hope!
  7. Well. Sam Dyson blows yet another save. Is it too soon to start calling it the SDE? (Yikes, that's too close to a very bad acronym indeed...) Meanwhile, down on the farm: Jaylin Davis: 14 games for Sacto, 9 HR, 16 RBI, BA .404, OPS 1.462 Hm.
  8. Starts and ends with starting pitching. Our rotation has stepped back instead of stepping up, every single one of 'em. Jake O was more lucky than good in the one game they won. Makina showed signs, but somebody needs to step up, and now.
  9. I sometimes check out the oppo team's sbn board, just to see how their fans are reacting- and maybe, just maybe, for a little chuckle of schadenfreude. True to form. Of course, just like folks we know (and are), they're kvetching about their recent bullpen acquisitions not paying off, and I got another chortle about one fan's musing that Twins fans must also be cursing their bullpen for giving up the lead. (True dat). But one thing that I appreciate so much about this board- once Arraez got that bloop, F-bombs everywhere, and after the Sano blast, some of them started personally sniping at each other, going so far as to cut and paste weeks-old posts to rub stuff in someone's face. I look at this place as one refuge where fans can bitch and moan and celebrate together-without resorting to personal beefs, and keyboard warriors are not something we have to deal with. (That's what twitter's for). My kudos to the admin's, and to the people on this board itself. I gotta say, these past few days-- my country is grieving and tearing itself apart, and Hong Kong where I live, is literally tearing itself apart. It's incredibly scary here right now; yesterday and last night were some of the worst hours of my life. I needed this couple hours of respite for my very soul today. I'm happy for the Twins win. And I'm happy to share it with folks like you. Thanks.
  10. Just an interjection here, on the Jaylin Davis watch. He's had a slightly better opening week than the guy we got 3 games with Sacto- 7 for 10, 3 2B, 2 HR, 8 RBI. OPS of 2.369 Small sample size, but how long before he takes someone's place in the moribund SF outfield? .
  11. Great report- thanks again! It's nice to catch up and see how the young-uns are doing, plus I got to learn about a couple of names unfamiliar to me so far. But you have to admit- there is simply no better ballplayer name than Willie Joe Gary, Jr! I've been following him all year, and been really impressed! Go get it, young man!
