    Twins Record: 45-36 Offensive stats: BA: .253 (6th in MLB) League Avg. .242 OBP: .322 (8th in MLB) League Avg. .312 OPS: .739 (7th in MLB) League Avg. .707 OPS+ 113 (3rd in MLB) Age of Batters: 26.9 (Tied for 3rd youngest in MLB) Pitching Stats: ERA: 3.68 (7th in MLB) League Avg. 4.02 FIP: 4.02 (16th in MLB) exactly League Avg ERA+ 104 (Tied for 12th in MLB) Observations: The bullpen has done a great job preventing inherited runners from scoring. Only 25 of 101 inherited runners have scored, good for 3rd best in baseball. The late innings are an amplified issue with 18 saves and 14 blown saves. The 56% save percentage is the 4th worst in baseball. We continue to be one of the teams who are least reliable on starters eating innings. 45 out of 81 starts have lasted 80 or less pitches, the most in MLB. Let’s see if adjustments are made in the next 81 games!

    The Yankees are a prime example of a bullpen built out of thin air: Clay Holmes - Acquired at 2021 trade deadline for Diego Castillo. 5.57 ERA during Pirates tenure, 0.97 ERA in Yankees uniform. Michael King - acquired in a nondescript trade for Garrett Cooper in November 2017. 12th round pick in 2016. Wandy Peralta - Acquired in April 2021 for Mike Taushman. Career low 2.65 ERA in Yankees uniform. Miguel Castro - Acquired in nondescript trade for Joely Rodriguez before 2022 season began. Lucas Luetge- Did not make an MLB appearance in 6 years before joining Yankees. Clarke Schmidt- Failed starter 1st round pick in 2017. Ron Marinaccio- 19th round pick in 2017 draft.

    There is almost 0 chance this will be the same bullpen tomorrow. Everyone is shot. An immediate sub that can be done is DFA Thornburg and add Ian Hamilton to the MLB team. Evan Sisk is Rule 5 eligible this offseason and probably worth a look to see if he needs a 40 man spot. I’m not exactly thrilled to see Cano or Minaya again, but desperate times call for desperate measures I suppose.

    If this series isn’t a desperate plea to give Rocco some bullpen arms he can use, I don’t know what that looks like. Time to get on the phone and make some moves.

    All there is on the 40 is Strotman with an 8+ ERA and Henriquez with an 8+ ERA. Strotman for sure could be DFA’d and not be claimed.
