  1. Lol. Anyone they want in the organization. Including FO and owners.
  2. If we don’t make any trades then it will end up being a 3 team race to 83 wins for the division title. I agree with @chpettit19that Chicago, Cleveland, and us are flawed teams that will have obstacles to overcome in the playoffs. I do believe we’ll make some modest moves for a couple of bullpen arms. It’ll be shocking, frankly, if they get either Montas, Castillo, or any other front line starter. Going forward, we really need to see some progression with the pitching prospects.
  3. FWIW, in Aaron Gleeman’s mailbag article, he appears to be confident that Sano will be DFA/released.
  4. I’m sorry. Unfortunately your original vote has been recorded for the history of time. No do overs here! No way no how.
  5. Also @Squirrelis correct. Garlick has 1 option remaining. My mistake!
  6. It’s a tricky situation for sure. Miranda has made the decision even more difficult since he’s red hot with his bat. If they don’t want to rock the boat too much before the trade deadline, I’m guessing Celestino is sent down to play every day. Then see if Sano is a salary dump trade candidate before August 2nd.
  7. Less than 1 week away from Sano’s rehab assignment ending. What will the Twins decide?
  8. I like this development. It still isn’t enough to get me to tune in though. All star games in any major sport does absolutely nothing for me. The only thing baseball has going for them is the game doesn’t fundamentally change. You still need to pitch, hit, and field. Whereas in other sports there is zero effort and zero defense being played.
  9. Color me intrigued by the knuckle ball pitcher. This draft is a success just because of the 9th round pick. Bring back the knuckle ball!
  10. The path to 90+ wins is still there. It is highly dependent on who we acquire over the next 2 weeks, of course. Previously I wanted all bullpen arms. Now I’m changing my tune and think 1 starter, 1 reliever will help out greatly for the final stretch of the regular season. Ideally acquiring a starter moves Archer to the pen as a multi inning arm.
  11. It’s strange that we’re now 4 completed seasons into the show, and we know almost nothing about Will Beyers. Setting him up for a huge character arc in the last season will feel forced IMO. Throughout the series he was never the glue or leader that kept the kids together.
  12. Last week Dan Hayes tweeted that Alcala is in a holding pattern on his rehab. With no news this week, it’s safe to assume that is still the case. Hayes also tweeted last week Ober was cleared to start doing a lifting program. No indication he’s started bullpen sessions or throwing to hitters yet.
  13. Seems like a real long shot he helps out anytime before September. Wouldn’t count on him this season at all.
  14. You’re doing something wrong when the game thread environment on Reddit, with self moderation, is more enjoyable than a Twins-centric site with volunteer moderators.
  15. When I lived down in TX with MLB.tv these games were blacked out which made me mad. Glad I can watch it now with no problem!
  16. This weekend in Austin is a high of 105 and 107. Don’t miss that at all.
  17. Texas signed the 2 pipe dream players I wanted last winter in Corey Seager and Jon Gray. I’ll be watching in envy tonight.
  18. I think we trade for at least 1 rental reliever and 1 reliever with 1.5+ years of control left. David Robertson is my top choice out of the rentals. Falvey and Levine have a trade history with Washington, so Carl Edwards Jr. is another option. Both shouldn’t cost more than a low level lottery ticket. David Bednar will likely be the most coveted reliever at the deadline. He’ll cost quite a bit in prospects, and I don’t know if we’ll pony up the capital to do so. Instead, I think they’ll go after someone else like Diego Castillo from Seattle. Left handed, won’t be as expensive, 1.5 years of control left, and his peripherals under the hood look good for a bounce back.
  19. I’ve really enjoyed season 4 of Stranger Things. CGI not too over the top, and intriguing storylines for most of the characters. A few of the kids, now teenagers don’t have much to work with this season like Mike and Jonathan.
  20. It’s been very disappointing with the lack of progression in the pitching pipeline. During the preseason, TD had 10 pitchers in the top 20 list. Chase Petty traded for Sonny Gray, so 9 remain. Ryan, Duran, and Winder are the ones contributing and the rest are struggling or injured. Balazovic in particular has been an utter disaster this year.
  21. If this game doesn’t highlight the extremes of Twins baseball, I don’t know what will. Excellent offense, terrible bullpen, brain farts on the base paths, and players who had the day off getting one under any circumstance. It’s July 6th and there’s a ton of work to do fixing the bullpen Falvey and Levine. Time is ticking. 2 back end bullpen arms are needed at a minimum.
