  1. There's nobody I trust more for my weather forecasts than Bert Blylevin.
  2. nice job Santana! How many pitches will they let him throw today? Hoping he can at least make it to through the 5th.
  3. No damage done. Too many pitches in the 1st for Santana IMO. May be seeing the bullpen early this game.
  4. Thank God. I've been wasting all of this time waiting to waste more time game threadin...
  5. Well I guess I will be able to watch the game at the bar like I hoped... No weather worries in good ol Austin TX today! 83 and sunny currently
  6. Let's go live to the TD members waiting for this game to begin... http://www.tenebrousmagazine.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/skeleton-computer.jpg ANNNNND we're all dead.
  7. Delaying opening day is like delaying Christmas morning... You can't do this weather gods!!!
  8. 50% chance of rain for pretty much the duration of the ball game. Anybody know where the old Metrodome roof is to hang over Camden Yards?
  9. Happy Opening Day to you all! Really wish I can take the afternoon off to watch at a bar. I guess watching it on the second monitor at my desk isn't a bad alternative...
  10. Under. They're going to stick with the proven veterans in the pitching rotation too long and it will cost wins. Should be a fun year to hopefully rotate out the old with the shiny new prospects.
  11. Under. Hoping for a World Series hangover from them this season.
  12. Okay.... I'm not sure why we're going down this path. In my OP you responded to, my point was that Ortiz has mentored Vargas, sees a similar skill-set and the same road blocks that Ortiz experienced while he was with the organization. He's sticking up for him, as any mentor/big brother/manager would do.
  13. As far as David Ortiz commenting about Vargas, from what I've read he's taken a mentoring role with Vargas since his days in A ball... He probably sees a lot of similarities with their skill-set, and sees the same road blocks Vargas now has that he experienced as well. It all worked out for Ortiz anyways..... For those that were more aware of the team than me in 1999, why did they leave Ortiz in AAA basically all year? Just looking at the stats, I can see why he would be frustrated if he mashed 30 HRs with a .1000 OPS...
  14. He's done okay, but has mainly been thrown out there in low leverage situations. He's trending in the wrong direction as far as letting inherited runners to score, even when they're giving him the ball in low leverage situations. He's probably going to be fine in the long-relief/mop-up role, but are the Twins ever going to trust him in more crucial situations? I don't know.
  15. Over. They have the best rotation in the majors, and I think Lindor takes another step toward stardom.
  16. Most difficult guy to predict on the team... I'd like to see a platoon between him and Arcia at DH to start, and see who gets hot. I'll predict him to hit 15-20 HRs..
