  1. Concur. He's broken now, probably for good. The only way I'd want him back is if he gained the 2 MPH he lost last season.
  2. Isn't that why we signed Marwin? So he can be the solution to whatever injury/lack of production comes up over the season?
  3. Congrats on the staff for transforming Perez into a new pitcher... Kudos to Perez for mastering a new pitch and trusting to throw it almost 40% of the time. He's certainly extended his career... If he keeps this up the option year in 2020 is a no brainier! Berrios needs a sidekick or 2 in the rotation. It could be him!
  4. Haven't seen that show but I've heard good things. I didn't mind the ending for Breaking Bad... The Americans wasn't bad either. But they're few and far between.
  5. With GoT wrapping up in a couple of weeks I was thinking about this... Is there a long running show that comes to mind where you enjoyed the ending? I'm preparing to be disappointed because it's difficult to write an ending most people will accept/enjoy. To this day I still think Dexter is the worst finale ever for a TV show.
  6. These kind of changes are being implemented league wide. The cutter is the new sinker/slider, and pitchers are throwing way more non-fastballs than ever before. I'm happy the Twins are keeping up with the latest trends. Fangraphs posted a really good article about how batters are fighting back to the trends... https://blogs.fangraphs.com/how-hitters-are-fighting-back-against-rising-strikeouts/
  7. Yes, IMO. They're both rental players. Teams don't have to give up much for rentals anymore if the last couple of years is any indication.
  8. This is why I trade prospects for good MLB players 10 times out of 10. I'm certain people here thought the Astros overpaid for Cole... They got the last laugh. If you want to have more fun with past trades, look at how awful the Christian Yelich trade is for Miami now... And people also thought at the time the Marlins got a haul. Trade your prospects when you can. Laugh all the way to the bank when the established MLB player you receive is way better than any top 100 prospect you sent to the other team.
  9. A defining year for Sano's career, no doubt. He has to produce and be healthy the rest of the year upon his return. Otherwise why do the Twins continue to rely on him?
  10. He was certainly signed and advertised to be more than a back end starter...
  11. It's not just you! https://twitter.com/AaronGleeman/status/1123402464303050752?s=19
  12. Gerrit Cole is a very good pitcher. Still makes me sad the Twins didn't aggressively pursue him at the time.
  13. Could also be too much content being generated at once... In the past there were articles about a certain topic that percolated over a couple of weeks and generated several pages of comments. Now it's tough to keep up with all of the new content published on the site... I used to post a ton on game threads before, and fully accept the current state of that part of the site. A lot of the people who made game threads fun in the past are no longer around, and it's probably not possible to recreate that atmosphere anymore.
  14. I'm going to miss playing against Baltimore... They are a terrible baseball team.
  15. Possibly. Unless Tortuga continues this 0-fer slide. Not as much excitement about him on this site the last week or 2...
  16. Concur. I want to squint and see good things because his bat is infinitely better than Castro. To quote Platoon from last year, it looks like Garver's holding a frying pan instead of a glove.
  17. They're doing a roadshow prior to the IPO being released to the public. It'll be available in May. Not sure what they're starting at. Probably something similar to Lyft, if not more.
  18. Netflix finally has legit competition... I'll be curious to see how they respond. Disney is starting at a lower price point already... $6.99 a month I believe.
  19. I get it... I'm at a different point in life. Riding the high risk/high reward investment strategy. I'd say less than 2% is actual cash. Though if I ever end up buying a house I'll have to change the strategy and sell stock to get cash for a down payment.
  20. Maybe this is a better time than their IPO offering. They haven't matched their starting point of $78 a share since.
  21. It's used at tons of companies. Our company uses it as an easy way to chat, send docs, and collaborate with different teams. I have no idea how they price their services and other revenue opportunities they can pursue.
  22. Who's jumping on for the ride? I'm hopping on right away.
  23. Baldelli put Vazquez in a rough spot for his debut. I also concur with RB. The organization needs to come to the conclusion Odorizzi is not a starting pitcher. He's good for the first 60-70 pitches, and a disaster after that.
  24. This question is more controversial than "Is a hot dog a sandwich?" I want to say yes... But turtles don't have fur... So who knows!
