  1. Twins play Braves (3)--Indians (4)--at Brewers (2)--at Rangers (4) Indians play Rangers (3)--at Twins (4)--Red Sox (3)--at Yankees (4) Should be a crazy two weeks.
  2. It appears that Trevor May (who I thought would team up with Rogers for a nice 1-2 punch) is now the forgotten arm of the bullpen.
  3. I would expect that except under the most extraordinary circumstances there will no longer be a need for 6 out saves from Rogers. Thank goodness.
  4. The Marlins traded him for a 21 year old SS (Jazz Chisholm) who is hitting .204 with 18 HRs at AA. I think the Twins could've beat that.
  5. I believe the Division Series is a best of 5, and anything can happen which is why I say they could win it. If it's best of 7 I would agree with you.
  6. If the Twins do nothing more? They win the division, possibly win the division series, and then lose in the league championship series.
  7. Fun fact -- Romo has pitched in 27 post season games (2010, 2012, 2014, 2016) and given up 8 runs (23.1 IP). 7 of those runs were given up in 10 division series games, which means in the 17 league championship and WS games he's pitched in, he's given up 1 run (13.1 IP).
  8. I'm thinking the Yankees were just as happy to get out of Minnesota as the Twins were to see them go. The Yankees got hammered for 27 runs, ran through their bullpen, and got nailed for another 19 runs last night in Boston. The Mets and A's series were the setbacks, not the Yankees series.
  9. Giles and Kennedy--can't help but be an upgrade and shouldn't cost that much. Keep Smelzer to be the long guy or starter.
  10. MLB Trade Rumors has posted an interview with Falvey re his approach to improve the team. Not terribly inspiring. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/07/falvey-on-twins-deadline-approach.html#comments
  11. So I go upstairs to bed when it is 9 to 5 heading into the 8th. It seems like two minutes later it is 9 to 8 with a runner on 2d and one out. I decide I am not going to watch this because I know what is going to happen so I try to go to sleep -- I figure the Yankees will get the lead and win something like 13 to 10 in 9 innings (Chapman, right?). All through the night I keep waking up but manage to keep from looking at my phone to see what happened. Finally when I get up this morning I take a look and go, "Huh, what???!!!" Not surprised that the Twins loss and certainly disappointed, but not nearly as much as the after the 5-4 loss to the A's on Saturday, I mean it's the Yankees right? At least the Twins were able to come back when in previous years they would've curled up in the fetal position. It looks like the bombas are back (yay Sano!!). Win today and no letdown against the ChiSox, Marlins, and Royals, OK? Bullpen help please.
  12. When you get a chance, watch the replay of Cruz's second home run and then look at the expression on Buxton's face.
  13. Somehow Baltimore has two starters (Means and Cashner) who actually have winning records (6-4 and 7-3, respectively, and they account for 13 of the O's 22 victories). Cleveland is starting Clevinger, Plesac and Bieber. Baltimore is starting Means, Cashner and Ynoa. The Twins could luck out and have the O's take 2 of 3. Then again, the O's have lost 13 of their last 14.
