  1. Fargo was robbed of it's deserved Emmy.
  2. this guy dominates the minors and can't do anything in the majors. it's like a recurring theme
  3. '1. Hair Stylist – I can’t cut my own hair… correction… yes, I can cut my own hair but not with that evenness that people strive for. When the time comes... I sit down in the chair and wait for the question that they ask me every time, “How do you want it cut?" I don’t know because I don’t know the hair style code that must be necessary to communicate what you want done.' When I was a kid I had scarlet fever. My hair would get knotted at the ends. Later I developed fine hair that the wind could blow about with great ease, Some of the wedding pictures from my first marriage have my hair all over the place. Later in life I started getting flat tops since, due to the scarlet fever, my hair had started receding early in life and it was continuing it's retreating march. Seemed the right time to do it. Then, about 10 years ago, I just got it all buzzed off. Loved it. Went home and took blade to it. Loved it. I kept it shaved (shaved it every other day) until I retired from the military. Now, one every couple weeks, I just have my wife shave my head. No need to tell the barber what I want done with my hair and the cost of haircuts, well, can't beat it :-)
  4. I absolutely want the Cubs to win it all. They are a great team. I wish my Grandma and Dad had lived long enough to see the team they have now.
  5. I heard it was the constant humping of St Peter's leg that did it :-)
  6. My brother went to four different high schools, one year apiece. He didn't enjoy it one bit. it likely cost him a full baseball scholarship.
  7. http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/22/health/best-worst-states-raise-children/ (CNN)Minnesota reigns as the most kid-friendly state to raise a family for the second year in a row, according to an Annie E. Casey Foundation study. They use a carefully developed methodology to tally each state's composite score in four main categories: Economic and health conditions, education and quality of communities.
  8. He's been back for, what, 13 games now? In the last 14 days, he's started 12 games and hit .333/.404/.714 in 48 PA. He's also sported a BABIP of .455. He's struck out 33% of the time, which is very close to striking out as much as Cody said he had in his first 109 games. Then you look at what he's done in the last 7 days (which is included in the awesome last 14 games time frame): 6 games started, 24 PA, .158/.304/.316. (with a BABIP of .222), striking out 40%. So what's happened was, he had an AWESOME first week back. That's what happened. He looks better, but he's got a ways to go.
  9. I have to catch up on Homeland. My wife hastily bought me the first 4 seasons after I said I liked the first couple episodes :-)
  10. I like Matthew MacFadyen too, which is probably why I enjoy Ripper Street so much :-)
  11. I liked Broadchurch Season two a lot, but it's hard to top what Season one was. I'd recommend you finish watching it. Season 3 will be out next year. Peaky Blinders is good, so is/was Copper and even better is Ripper Street.
  12. I find myself cutting down on quantity and up on quality. It's like I never realized how bad (overall) regular TV was until the last few years when all this great stuff started coming out. Still some exceptions and/or guilty pleasures like The Blacklist, but shows like True Detective (season one), Fargo, Broadchurch, etc. make one see how good TV can be and makes me not want to waste my time with lesser work. Network television really needs an upgrade across the board, because they are getting run over...and a lot of it is done with lesser budgets focusing on story and quality acting (and, IMO, British TV has been killing us in the quality acting area on TV for quite some time). Actresses like Olivia Colman...
  13. At this point, unless it's a movie that just needs to be seen on the big screen (like, say, Star Wars movies), I wait till they come out on BluRay or on demand. No need/desire to see a comedy or drama in theater.
  14. Jack Goin is doing a fine job. The higher ups just need to find a way to implement the info more in regards to signing FAs along with the field manager actually using it.
  15. Vinyl was a show that tried to be deep, and failed miserably.
  16. American Gods is the one I couldn't remember, thanks.
  17. The bar can be set higher than that, can't it? :-)
  18. Yeah, it's been fun to see. Let's hope he sustains it. Veteran players have a hard time sustaining changes in their swings/approach and often revert back to what they've always been.
