  1. I'd have a bigger problem if the Twins "do something" and make a stupid trade than seeing them "do nothing more". This team can compete with the other good teams this year. Just as important is setting the team up for continued success for the next 4-5 years. It would be nice to be like the Rays, only with better attendance, a better ballpark and retaining our best players long-term.
  2. Nick Gordon is improving his trade value with another nice day. Gotta think some team wouldn't mind getting Nick as a piece in a trade today. Meanwhile, the Twins have a glut of good middle infielders.
  3. I hoping at least 4-6 major trades by the contenders tomorrow. Just think how boring the trade deadline will be in future years if NADA is the level of activity under the new rule.
  4. I'd trade Sano or Garver (and two second tier prospects) for Syndegaard, but Buxton is off-limits. The Twins win when Buck plays, and lose when he is out of the line-up.
  5. Just read that there is a strained relationship between Syndergaard and the Mets. I wouldn’t give up a player the caliber of Miguel Sano (unless the Mets give more) when the Mets are on the spot with Thor. The fact that Sano is a team player and Thor is a bit of a complainer means something about their comparative value.

  7. There’s a jam in the infield. The team is big on power and light on pitching. Maybe the Mets would trade Thor for Sano. That improves the pitching staff, and makes more at bats available for Adrianza, Arraez, Schoop and Gonzalez (Nick Gordon gets called up in September for additional infield reinforcement).
  8. Maybe Romo will induce a few inherited runners into double plays. Twins need a good lefty for their bullpen. That means trading for a lefty reliever or trading for a starter either Perez moving to the pen.
  9. If one of the current starters goes to the pen, it should be Kyle Gibson. He looks good early and then falls apart by the 4th or 5th. Perfect guy to go to the pen
  10. Too many buyers and too few sellers at this time. That means the Twins and others will be smart to wait to see if any more teams join the "sellers" category. Otherwise, the smart thing is not to sell the farm for an above average pitcher. Maybe the Twins can find a "surprise" pitcher who can half-emulate Arraez - Maybe Stashak or Thorpe for example (last outings looked very good). If the price is too high the Falvine motto should be: Don';t just do something, STAND THERE!
  11. By the way, Larnach was promoted to AA just a couple of days ago. In a league where power hitting is at a premium, Larnach looks like one the Twins should keep..
  12. The "Pohlad's are cheap" fan is an uninformed fan. Every Darvish or Kimbrel signing by another team gets that mantra going. By the way, I'm happy the Twins didn't sign either one of them. The Twins are one of many teams going after the top players who will come available in the next two weeks (as more teams become sellers). I trust them to make a good effort to sign what is needed. Still, I am not excited about giving up one of the big three prospects (Graterol , Kirilloff, Lewis) for a fading MadBum or a Sonny Gray type of pitcher. The Twins should not give up that caliber of prospect if they are going to take on a big contract for someone like Zack Greinke. The Twins should add another top starter and/or a top reliever, but the cost is part of the equation both in dollars and the quality the players we are giving up. When Management considers the cost, it isn;t being "cheap", it's part of making a good decision ofr the the team asnd the bottom line too.
  13. When the Twins traded Brian Dozier last year, th Dodgers included Logan Forsythe in the deal. I’d like to see Schoop included in a package to another team like that as part of a trade adding pitching to our squad.
  14. The answer to the question is that more players will become available as more teams drop out of contgention and become sellers. As we get closer to July 31, the price for a trade should drop too. But I'm glad to know that early trades don't usually helpo much.
  15. I'm hoping the Twins can extend their lead in the second. That will give the September call-ups more playing time as we rest our regulars. I'm especially looking froward to seeing what Rooker and Gordon can do.
  16. Looks like top prospect Royce Lewis has hit the basll well this past week. Any reports on why the sudden improvement from earlier in the year?
  17. Littell and Arraez (who should play every day). Then, I know the fans will hate it but La Tortuga is probably the most likely to go down next if the Twins need another reliever (another lefty would be nice). Adrianza has lifted his average enough to stay,
  18. It would be pure baseball injustice if the AL All-Star team did NOT include Polanco, Rosario and Odorizzi. Certainly Berrios, Buxton, Cron, Parker and Kepler are worthy as well.
  19. One big minor league story is Royce Lewis. Through 46 games, batting at .223 with an OPS of just .615. He has One HR. He has 5 errors. Are the Twins blaming injuries?
