Article: No Suspension For Miguel Sano
strumdatjaguar replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
MLB investigated this accusation and its assessment regarding the lack of credibility of the accusation is pretty clear. Sorry, but I trust the MLB review as being more objective and thorough than the opinions of the "I'm a fan of Miggy" crowd and the "I know Betsy personally" crowd. Play ball! -
Article: No Suspension For Miguel Sano

Still worried about at least one player on the current roster who made supportive comments to the alleged victim. Right or wrong - I'm concerned about resentment in the clubhouse. -
New Team, New Sponsorship

Considering the "correct" pronunciation with Rizz. I suggest that the Twins bring back Fizzies and promote fragrant ones called ODOR-FIZZIES.- 5 comments

Article: Three-Bagger: DH, Dozier And Destiny
strumdatjaguar replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Some fans will complain about Dozier leaving. However, if the Twins are in contention, it will be worth it to have him here for the entire season. If the team falters, then the Twins get something at the trade deadline. Either way, the Twins have Gordon waiting to step up and are strong in the middle infield for years to come. The added power with Logan Morrison, who will be here next year to more than make up fort the loss of Dozier's power in the line-up. .- 26 replies

Article: Brian Dozier: I'll Be A Free Agent
strumdatjaguar replied to John Bonnes's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Twins have mucho depth at middle infield. I don't want the Twins to offer more than three years, and would not wnat to see them break the bank. Dozier wil be dealt at the deadline if the Twins falter this year, or he will help to lead us to the promised land of the playoffs and then signor leave. The Twins can wait!!! -

Sure would like to see a lefty in the rotation (two would be better). Mejia and Gonsalves is all we got.- 110 replies

2018 Twins Off-Season top 60 Prospect List: 1-5
strumdatjaguar commented on Thrylos's blog entry in Thrylos' Blog - select Tenth Inning Stretch posts
I hope Sano stays in good enough shape to be 1B of the future instead of Rooker, then again Sano could easily end up as a career DH or a "no career" guy.. -
2018 Twins Off-Season top 60 Prospect List: 6-10
strumdatjaguar commented on Thrylos's blog entry in Thrylos' Blog - select Tenth Inning Stretch posts
Gonsalves should be higher just because he is a MLB-ready lefty with a pulse, and if he develops a decent third pitch. According to today's STRIB article, all he has is a fastball 91-92 and a change-up. He says he's working on a curveball, and it sounds like it may need work. -
Handicapping The Twins Rotation

Remember that sometime between late April and Mid-May, Ervin Santana will return. Where is Trevor May on the percentage radar?- 8 comments

I do not want Darvish, but thanks for disagreeing.
strumdatjaguar commented on mikelink45's blog entry in mikelink45's Blog
I'm in agreement on years 3 and beyond. Darvish will be worth the money, probably for two more years. I'm also the guy with the Japanese, Twins-fan Mother-in-law who still wears her Kurt Suzuki Jersey, and would go ga-ga if Davish came here. So, part of me wants him here for non-baseball reasons. -
The three you mentioned are more likely breakout stars. The Twins will excel if there is a real surprise among two of the following: Garver, Gibson, Busenitz, (Circle me) AdalBERTo Mejia.

Article: Each Minnesota Team’s Greatest Finish
strumdatjaguar replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
My favorite unconventional Twins moments when I was in attendance - ranked #5 thru #1: 5. On Teen Challenge Day at the Metrodome, the ceremonial first pitch was thrown out by two young people who were successfully in the process of overcoming significant chemical dependency issues. After the pitch, the P.A., System blasted Roxy Music's "Love is the Drug". 4. At Metrodome with my young kids, who were always taught never to leave a game early. Down 9-1 in the bottom of the 9th, the Twins scored 7 runs to bring the score to 9-8, with a man on second and the winning run at the plate. The few remaining fans rocked the joint right up till the last out which lost the game. 3. At Spring Training, there was some bragging about the tough/rowdy crowds by Philly fans sitting next to me (even though Twins took on the Marlins that day). I recited my story of the toughest crowd I ever saw, at the Chicago Stadium for a North Stars/Black Hawks Stanley Cup Game. After the Stars went down 4-1, the rowdy crowd became conciliatory to me in my Minnesota Regalia. Then it was 4-2, then 4-3 then 4-4 and ultimately our squad won 5-4. I started singing "Go For A Goal North Stars" at the top of my lungs. I am lucky to be alive. After finishing the story, the Twins fan in the floppy hat in front of me turned around and said, "I was there, Lou Nanne". and we shook hands. 2. Watching the Dave Kingman pop-up that got stuck in the Metrodome roof, and my friend obliviously shouting through the shocked crowd silence, "Somebody call for it.!" 1. I was sitting four rows behind the plate at the Metrodome in a well-lubicated group of four friends, when the batter attempted a bunt. The catcher ran forward to field the bunt as the batter ran to First. But the bunt was fouled downward into the dirt and bounced directly up into the umpire's crotch. The umpire dropped to the ground in obvious discomfort. Others near us stared with great disapproval as the four of us laughed uncontrollably. The more we tried to stop laughing, the more it made us laugh and made the concerned onlookers more disgusted with us. Honorable mention: anything involving interaction with the beer vendor at the old Met who wore the umbrella hat!!! -

One Abbreviation Highlights The Need For Another
strumdatjaguar commented on Ted Schwerzler's blog entry in Off The Baggy
So, if one of us notices the high level of success of players from the Dominican Republic versus all other players in the world, does that mean that person is a Dominican Supremacist? Not any more than if one notes that Japanese players tend to play at a higher level than baseball players from Vietnam (if there are any!) It is legitimate to note that certain cultures have better youth baseball programs and place a greater cultural emphasis on playing certain sports (Canada and Hockey for example). Posting millions to northern Asian baseball leagues has not been a successful formula for the Twins so far, and baseball fans may be legitimately wary of diving into that process again. I think my Japanese mother-in-law might even agree. Although, as a die-hard Twins fan, she is really ready to trade in her Kurt Suzuki jersey for a Darvish, Ohtani or even Uehara jersey - her Nishioka jersey is long gone!!!. You are not a victim!- 3 comments

It's probably not a good idea to have Bautista and Castro on the same roster, after what happened in Cuba - January 1, 1959.

Mauer Making Us Reconsider The Hall
strumdatjaguar commented on Ted Schwerzler's blog entry in Off The Baggy
This season solidifies Mauer in the Hall but not on the first ballot. If Joe puts up just one more season above .290 (presuming he does that this year and that additional year), and continues to field well, he starts to get into a first ballot HOF conversation. His years as a catcher were so phenomenal that a resurgence this year makes the HOF likely.- 8 comments

First: The Twins look good in the infield with an abundance of shortstops in the system led by Nick Gordon and Royce White. Have to believe Polanco will either be traded or moved to 2nd Base if Dozier is traded. Second: The Cedar Rapids Kernals need to bring back the last version of Mr. Shucks (basically Mr. Peanut but he's an ear of corn instead of a peanut shell) . Merely having Mr. Met put straw under his shirt ain't cutting it! Third: Kent Hrbek is worrying big about his HVAC Endorsement deal, which will be gone if Shane Carrier ever makes it to the MLB Club!!!

Anyone not named Gonsalves, Gordon, Romero, Garver, or Lewis. Maybe Kirilloff and Chargois are untouchable based on how well each is recovering from injury.

I did about 15 minutes of searching online to see if Joe Cronin is the great-grandson of the Hall of Fame Player and former AL President of the same name. Anyone know? He is from Manchester, Ct. So he's from the Northeast, where the deceased Hall of Famer played (for the Red Sox).

Article: Appreciating Max Kepler
strumdatjaguar replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Every season, the Twins should have at least one "Max Kepler Dollar Brat Night". Get Sheboygan to sponsor it. Replace the regular lame walk-up music wiith Polka Music and "Wock Me Like a Huwhickane" by the German Band Scorpions (maybe the German language versions of songs recorded by The Beatles and Peter Gabriel). Maybe Bring Back Nickel "Bier" Night. Max Schnell !!!!!
