  1. Bummer that Petru Balan is having a rough time of it. I was hopeful that he could be good. It would've been really fun to have a MLB'er on the Twins from Moldova
  2. LaMonte Wade is having a nice July. I might have jumped the gun and when I declared that he is the starting LF'er in 2018. But I am liking how he is bouncing back after his poor June.
  3. Disagree, and I think you do too. Otherwise why would you rank Lachlan Wells higher than Tyler Wells? Tyler Wells is almost 23 and at Low A pitching lights out against guys whose ave age is almost 2 years younger than him. Lachlan Wells is 20 at doing OK at High A facing batters 2 year older than him. Age matters when it comes to ceiling/floor conversations and performance evaluation. If older prospects sit at the same level, and don't get promoted their age needs to be considered when evaluating their performance.
  4. For the first time in over a month Wander Javier played a game on consecutive nights! I hope he can stay healthy
  5. Why? He walks too many people. He gives up too many hits. He doesn't get enough strike outs. He is a fine depth pitcher but even guys like Tepesch should be ahead of him.
  6. Santana, Liriano and Perkins did not get their first taste in the majors in their first full season back after Tommy John surgery. If it wasn't for the Tommy John I would agree with you. But in this case, why risk it?
  7. Normally I would agree. But he is coming off UCL issues and his arm /routine is based around being a starting pitcher. He has already pitched more innings than he ever has so don't put him in a situation whre he has pitch in the 8th inning and he goes out and tries to throw 100 mph. He is young, and a potential #1 or #2 starter. Why screw with that?
  8. I say leave him as is. 5 innings an outing until he hits his limit. I would rather not see him get strained going into the bullpen and doing something new.
  9. In my mind this is why its important to promote guys until they struggle. Leaving them at a level where they have success but don't have to improve is how they get bad habits. Getting a person to change their approach when they are dominating isn't so easy.
  10. Luke Bard is having a heck of a season. Interestingly for most of his career he was a guy who got a lot of groundouts. But this year most of his outs come via the air and strike outs.
  11. The DSL twins are 24 - 7!. So far the 2016 signing class is looking decent. Michael Montero & Jesus Toledo are young pitchers might be fun to watch. Wander Valdez has an interesting BB/KK. Estamy Urena has a nice OPS. I don't suppose there are any reports on these guys?
  12. Romero only had 86 pitches in his 5 innings. They must be trying to limit his innings/pitches. He is one more start from matching his career high in IP
  13. I have no idea how a team like the Red Sox with 4.3 Million pool could be linked to two top 10 guys (Flores and Diaz) while the Twins are linked to a top 30 guy. I am no scout but everything I have read about Daniel Flores makes me want the Twins to get him. 16 year catching prospect who can hit and play D. I wish they would use their money to get a guy like Diaz. He would probably become a top 10 prospect right away.
  14. I love it. I remember when players wouldn't sign until the season was almost over. Now they are drafted, signed and in Florida right away. This way is so much better.
  15. According to his twitter he is signing today! https://twitter.com/BlayneBlaynee/status/878115935890030592 Unless he is taking a job at Best Buy
  16. Lewis at 2 makes no sense to me. I am not anti-the pick and I am fine with the 2017 draft. But, he is a good prospect with an uncertain position. He was picked not because of his high-end talent but because he is a good prospect who was cheaper than others. Moving him over 2 pitchers at AAA and AA is only due to draft position, not talent. At this point, Javier has as much upside as Lewis (if not more) I would go 1 Gordon 2 Romero 3 Gonsalves 4 -Javier 5 Lewis
  17. Where is Matz Schutte? Is he still in the org? I am surprised I don't see Balazovic in E-town. Are they sending him back to the GCL?
  18. I saw this Tweet from Enlow from yesterday. Looks to me like we can expect his signing tomorrow? "Just hit me I leave in two days and I couldn't be happier to do what I love the most — Blayne Enlow (@BlayneBlaynee) " "https://twitter.com/BlayneBlaynee/status/877059289915027456 Hopefully he is not talking about a camping trip
  19. Goddness I hope not. Jaylin Davis looks to me like Adam Walker with less power and worse SO numbers. He shouldn't be blocking to anyone.
  20. I keep seeing that Enslow has agreed to around 2 MM. but I can't find that officially. Is that just articles regurgitating the same source?
  21. That means you are buying the post draft stories Front office types always spin. Lewis is a good prospect I'm looking forward to watching how he fits with the next wave of prospects like Wander Javier, Graterol and others. I think he is a good additional to the org and I like how they handled the draft. But I don't think he was #1 on any boards.
  22. I don't want him only because I don't want to be exposed to hacky wordplay headlines for the balance of his career. I get it. It's fun from time to time. But if things work out with him for the next 7-10 years Twins fans will be exposed to: All the Wright Moves Righty Wright Rights Ship Wright Alright And so on Uhg
