  1. I’ve liked Goodrum too. If he stops striking out a lot and if he could play 3B at the MLB level I think he could have a shot. But he is 25 and probably he is what he is at this point.
  2. Not a great day for the system yesterday. I think if Stewart gets rocked a few times maybe that is not so bad. With his ability to induce weak contact he hasn't had to change it up much over his career. If he struggles against better AA competition, it will force him to alter his approach and hopefully go for the K a bit more. - Reports say he has the ability. I would've liked to see Del Rosario get a chance to pitch himself out of that jam in the 4th. He is not so young anymore and if he is going to be a starter, he has to learn how to get out of those situations.
  3. Just go to www.milb.com Go to the team page and click "multimedia" Rochester: http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?sid=t534 Chat: http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?sid=t498
  4. I'd like to see him at 3B. Seems like this is an organizational need - (who is the back up to Sano?) So if there is an injury 3B would be his fastest path the majors. If his power is real, and if he can play decently in the field it seems like a no-brainier for him
  5. Looking forward to reading these the rest of the season. But I have to concur with the FM head scratching Wells in the bullpen? Rodriguez as the opening day starter? Zander Wiel batting 2nd? None of that makes a lot of sense. Hopefully this is an opening day aberration and not a trend
  6. Kernels website has Blankenhorn as the DH? Boy I hope he plays in the field every day. If he can't cut it at in the infield, put him in the OF.
  7. I will be keeping an eye on Chris Paul. Pre 2016 I thought he had potential to be a fast mover. He took a big step backwards last year. Would be nice to see him regain form
  8. 1 hotdog, 2 beers maybe a pretzel and another beer if I splurge. If I want Indian food in MN I will head to Gorkha
  9. The biggest change is teams are starting to focus more on the mid inning guys than the closers. Closers still get headlines but 7-8 inning guys are getting more dollars, more notice and more situational. But let me agree with sentiment that comparing Jay to Milelr is silly. Jay could be a decent reliever, but to expect him to be the best in the game? Why?
  10. Posts like this are why I love spring training. Thanks for sharing this. And hey with all of the injured pitchers, and the possibility of the FO having a mid season fire sale, Slegers could get a few starts in MN this year
  11. I think I also saw it reported that Gonsavles will start at AAA instead of AA If these reports are right, it makes me wonder if the new regime will be more aggressive than the past. A quick scan at top prospects in the Clevleand org and Rangers org makes it seem like they move guys up quick. But I wouldn't even know how to do a comparison,
  12. Newsletter? Is this the 1980's? I didn't know they were still a thing
  13. I wish the Twins had better options instead of Gibson and Santiago. Neither of them deserve to be considered a lock to be a major league starter. Wouldn't it be something if a guy like Gonsalves took advantage of the fact that guys are pitching in the WBC, and used his extra looks to force a spot onto the rotation? The chances of that happening are very, very, very low but it would make the season so much more fun to not watch the same guys fail every five days.
  14. Just about every Twins Prospect ranking has a different order. I can't decide if that is a good thing or bad thing. On one hand its a bummer there isn't a consensus super prospect in the system. But on the other hand there are lots of guys who might break out.
  15. Again, the only comparable thing between Gonsalves, Perkins and Diamond is their throwing arm. Otherwise their numbers & career paths are so just...incomparable That being said if he can be "career year" Diamond over a 10 year career I'd take that.
  16. I dunno. I guess they are all lefities but I am not sure those are good comps Their first taste of AA compared: Gonsalves 21, WHIP 1.07, SO/9 - 10.8, w/9 - 4.5, ERA 1.82, IP 74 Perkins 22, WHIP 1.46, SO/9 - 7.6, w/9 - 4,, ERA 4.90, IP, 79 Diamond 22, WHIP 1.565, SO/- 7.6 - w/9 - 3.6 ERA 3.50 IP 131 I don't think Gonsalves will a be #1 starter and his walks are a caution flag, but he has better comparable numbers than Perk and Diamond.
  17. When I look at who is he ahead of on this list I think of "shiny new toy syndrome." But he looks like he has the will to improve and some really really nice tools. There is a strong chance I will be in Iowa for a few weeks this summer. I would love the opportunity to get to cedar rapids and watch him play
  18. ? So do you think Twins player development, drafting and self scouting is a strength of the team? If so that would be an....interesting take
  19. It's nice to see Moliter be so candid. It's almost like he is fighting for his legacy. Polanco is not the reason guys like Radcliff, Brad Steil and Rob Antony deserve to be tarred and feathered and never let back into the state of Minnesota. He is just the latest most blatant example of the poor player development and mismanagement that has plagued this organization for at least a decade. Falvey and Levine need to start cleaning house. I don't want any of the old player development regime to touch June's #1 pick
