  1. ^^ this prospect excites me tons if he can stay healthy (he is 6'-8").. call it a good feeling
  2. Help them do what, exactly? Help them to an above .500 record in mid-June so that you can demand they be sellers again? I'm honestly trying to figure out the logic here.
  3. Cody Allen is another interesting piece of this puzzle. He throws a curveball, was a later round pick, and flew through the minors.
  4. As the poster above hinted at, do you think if Enlow had been selected earlier (35 or 37), do you think he could have then set his bargaining price higher due to the slot?
  5. Poppen has committed several throwing errors to first this season. Just "throwing" that out there; probably means nothing. (Except it's probably a mental thing he needs to fix.)
  6. much, much worse http://www.nbtworld.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/RIP-1.jpg
  7. One of the pre-draft articles argued (paraphrasing here) that Rooker was playing a position based on team need, but that he is more than capable of playing the corner outfield positions. edit - thanks for th info
  8. Of the talented players remaining that you do know, which ones would you like them to pick?
  9. Ever hired anyone who wanted to work somewhere else? Your point is correct, I just don't have a problem with it. But the Twins wouldn't have passed on Greene if they felt Greene was that much superior to the other options.
  10. And if through talking to Greene, the Twins felt that Greene's heart was set on San Diego, then passing on Greene is fine by me that way too.
  11. I'm fine passing on McKay. An interesting study would be how two-way college players drafted high have fared over their careers when asked to give up one half of their game. Seems like too much of a risk at 1-1. Unless he can be signed for a discount maybe.
  12. the impression I got from comingste into the discussion was that there was no clear 1-1 Strasburg type to draft. And performance of college pitchers with mid-first round talent is spotty, even then.
  13. Then on Day 2 of the draft, Falvey emerged from the war room to discover his current big league club is both in first place and having a pitching crisis of epic proportions.
  14. Thanks; I see "commit" is not binding in this context. I am no good at speaking this stuff.
  15. You are saying Leach is committed to Texas. That tells me that he is not going to sign, and the Twins wasted a draft pick, but that can't be right, either. Can you explain that better?
  16. I do like that the Twins seem to have their own list. However when every pick offers the promise of saving signing money, it's a little suspicious. That screams Pohlad.
  17. Probably been said somewhere, but the Twins also drafted Rooker in last years draft. 38th round. Twins scouts say he fills out a nice pair of jeans? edit: he did have a monster season
  18. Any single pick is ok, but combined, this looks a lot like a draft from the 2010 through 2015 years.
