    Not mean to be snarky, but since Romero seemed to be counted on as a big piece of the bullpen and he had a horrible spring training I just wanted to know if they worked with him or not. If not maybe they should have.

    Did he work with Romero? Because if he did, it sure didn't help his control....

    Frankly, I think the best case scenario for this bullpen is to be average and worst case is to be a disaster.

    Shouldn't we be looking for better than league average with Buxton? if all he is is a career .730 OPS guy, that will be disappointing... He's supposed to be a star.

    I'd be all for increasing the minimum salary and letting players get the free agency faster, but only if they would be willing to give up guaranteed contracts. That will never happen.

    what to expect? a .750 OPS and decent defense when he plays. Anything more will be a bonus, IMO

    Kopech had TJ surgery on Sept. 19 of last year. He's not pitching for the White Sox this year.

    Anyone not in the top 3 should be viewed as expendable to trade for established MLers.

    Another thing that is going to be hurt Jake Cave's chances of improving on what he did last year is playing time. He's not going to be in the lineup everyday like the last 3 months of last year.

    Yes, there is some effort in the delivery, but I've seen lots of pitchers with higher effort and less "stuff". Absolutely needs to given every chance to be a starter, even f it takes longer.

    With all these seemingly good prospects, we shouldn't be afraid of trading a few for an established MLer if the right opportunity arises.

    Palka, OBP south of .300 k rate at 36.6% and bad defense. Meh, he's basically another Oswaldo Arcia......

    I think his argument was we could have let someone else like Magill go instead of Curtiss. I know I'd rather have Curtiss that Magill.

    "Be patient with Buxton, he needs to be part of the Twins solution and he certainly isn’t part of Minnesota’s problem right now." What? We have no idea what we will get from him this season or beyond. That is a problem.

    What I'm interested to see is if we get to the end of July and Sano and/or Buxton are failing/have failed, what this front office does then.

    How do you trade for and "ace" and those other pieces without giving up Lewis and Kiriloff? I don't see any other prospects and/or MLB players that the Twins have that get you an "ace" and those other pieces, especially if it includes control of those players for 2020.

    I guess I'd be OK with that. Twins wasted close to that much on Ricky Nolasco, without the potential upside. This is off subject a little bit, but I wonder with technology as it is today, if there could be a way to test/improve pitch recognition. Say with high speed cameras and some sort of device held in the hand, have the player stand in the batters box, no bat or anything, and just try to recognize the pitch. That way they are not worrying about any swing mechanics or anything like that, just pitch recognition. Have multiple buttons for FB CB CH SL and have the device synched to the cameras to see how quickly and accurately the player distinguishes the pitch. Maybe it could pick up that one particular pitch gives them problems or all non FB pitches, or whatever. Just thinking out loud, probably not workable or maybe they have some variation of this already. probably just a another dumb idea by me.
