  1. I have no idea how to truly compare and rank players. Does he the best player on the twins - that's easy of course he is. But we have a lot of great players around the league they all have their own unique qualities that make them valuable to their teams. I'm just glad we have him but would not attempt to rank him
  2. How fun. We have the Buxton we dreamed of and he's healthy. We have Arraez doing what we expect from him. Winder is looking like the pitcher we had hoped and I'm ready to put archer in the bullpen. It's fun to have the team doing what we had expected. The Central division looks pretty interesting again. The White Sox once again show why Fielding is underrated. It is such an important part of the game and too often overlooked. Of course I'm looking at the Phillies when I say that.
  3. I will take your word for this. I tend to be aggressive in my mind about promotions and demotions
  4. Sure why wait? Some players have so much talent that they bust out early and I love to see him challenged and keep growing
  5. Of this game demonstrated the true weakness of the White Sox. If they are the best team in our division and one of the four or five best teams in Major League baseball that is a sad situation. They threw the ball around like a T ball team I do like good defense and that doesn't make a game boring the way that three straight strikes and a walk back to the dugout does. But all I can say is bring back Ricky Henderson.
  6. When I looked at yesterday's game he was one of the few hitters to do well. I think he's about to bring that batting average up to where he will be more than acceptable
  7. Not enough appearances to come to a conclusion, but they have looked really shaky so far. Duffey seemed much better against the Sox last night.
  8. We have RP in the minors, but we do not use them. We had Moran up briefly, Cano has not been up. Why have them in the minors if we are only going to convert starters to RP? I am confused. Cano should have had a chance last year.
  9. I do not disagree with what you say, but I am not convinced that the Twins are ahead of other teams.
  10. I think it's a mixed bag. There are some who made the prospect list but stalled or went backwards. There are a lot of variables so I hope for the best.
  11. Ken Griffey was in the majors at 19. We can hope we have a quick riser
  12. I love hope. And a great looking young prospect like this is really exciting
  13. How fun to see all the optimism rising with the sunshine and warmer temps. Let's get this season going!
  14. What a delight - nice reflection - two teams spinning out of control - what a fascinating set of circumstances. I am about to go back to work and fly to Florida and then go up the coast. I hope I can stay in touch because this should be fun. They can't pitch, we can't hit - amazing. But at least we have Joe Ryan.
  15. From the Athletic's Jayson Stark - RELIEF APPEARANCES PER SEASON 2021: 16,686 2011: 13,894 2001: 12,767 As he commented - everyone knows there are too many pitching changes, but will they stop - no it is just to easy to keep picking up arms and plug and play! This makes me sad.
  16. But then we might not have had Jeffers and his 148 BA and -0.3 WAR at DH! Arraez batting 313 - but also a -0.1 WAR that is the result of a stone glove - at DH that is not a factor.
  17. This is reached the point where there's not much to say. Somebody has to hit the ball and get on base and then even more important somebody has to score. Maybe tomorrow, but even if we win one of the three games what does it really mean?
  18. Neither pitcher instills the confidence that Rogers did. Rogers by the way has five innings, five saves, no runs allowed, 5 Ks, and a whip of 0.400
  19. Doesn't he have pitching coaches and an assistant pitching coach and a bullpen coach and a bench coach and an assistant bench coach and two bullpen catchers and an assistant coach (I don't know who he assists and a quality control coach and a "major league coach (what does he do?)? An yet we cannot figure out how to use the pitchers? Or set a lineup without Kepler batting fourth? Counting Rocco they have 17 coaches for 28 men? Why not hire 11 more so no one has to sit alone?
  20. Thanks for the relief from the Twins story. Except for St Paul, this was great reading.
  21. rv78 stole my post! He covered it all. Good job. My only addition is Archer. We want 6 - 7 innings from starters but Chris just made a case for Rocco's 4. Duffey might come back this season, but can't Wes "Guru" Johnson see his stuff in the pen before sending him out? How many coaches do we have? What do our bench coaches do besides read the newspaper to Rocco? It is time to turn things around, I know it is only 7% of the season, but after last season, we need to see some more hope. How about a winning streak? '
  22. The big sticks are not here yet - on ESPN the Twins batting ranks 27 out of 30 in OPS we are 23. We need pitchers holding the other team down - right not Thielbar and Duffey, our two vets, are doing the worst. SP going 7 would change the dynamics of the game. We rank 20 overall - SP and RP - on the ESPN chart. "The bullpen ERA ranks 22nd in the majors, and the ERA actually undersells how much the Twins have struggled because their relievers have allowed an astonishing 60 percent of inherited runners to score." The Athletic And that was last year! Someday someone on this site will tell me who Wes Johnson has reclaimed? I keep hearing about his magic but I am afraid my eyes must be clouded over.
