    Our team was exposed. But one thing I want to complain about is how Gordon - no matter what he does always has a "but" attached. I am very pleased with his play and glad he is on the team. Beyond that - let's step up and beat those Guardians.

    I am talking the series, not one game - in game one Baker used all his tools. Would I take him over Rocco? You bet.

    Well the graduate level course is over. We can go back to teams on or below our own level.

    What a lesson - part 2 of the Astros graduate course on how to play baseball and Dusty taught our managers too if they were watching. Maybe we can get game three, but regardless the Astros leave behind some strong ideas - like hitting singles, stealing bases, hit and run, and then clobber the ball over the fence. Field well, make smart plays! Nicely done. I am impressed with Lewis and Celestino - not so much Gary Sanchez and Urshela and why was Jeffers a DH? Sanchez - 195, Jeffers 203 and Urshela 222. I feel for Cano - Stashek should have the runs added to his ERA. Asking Cano for three innings was a push. Well on to game three, the Astros are probably tired from running bases and we should be able to get to them - Go Winder! I do have hope that Winder is for real and will not give in to the tough lineup he will face.

    Wow - you were able to really get a big story out of a 4 inning game suspension! Good job. I look forward to Cano getting able to throw a pitch. I am concerned that Archer, like Bundy is showing the bad side of his pitching - both of them have two clunkers in a row. Is this reality or a little slump. With Paddack down, our team better turn back to the younger arms. Archer ERA jumps to 4.43. Bundy 5.76. Paddack 4.03. When does Ober come back? Gray, Ryan, Winder, Ober, and ??? I know Bundy and Archer will get more starts, but if they continue this pattern I hope the leash is short. Despite the fact that the Twins would rather start over, I think the new idea of suspended games that resume is a good thing.

    So glad Cano got a call up. Anxious to start seeing Balazovic start again and happy Canterino is doing so well. When do they start extending him?

    Very pleased - if we are going to work pitchers in the minors to be RP - then we need to call them up and use them and stop with the pick up of failed mlb pitchers.

    He has earned a spot in the Twins bullpen. I prefer him over the other pickups that the FO has made.

    Beating Tampa was good, Although after getting no-hit they do not look as good as I expected. But I will give you them as a good team we beat, but the White Sox at that point were without too many key players and were not playing well so I do not accept them as a Good Team that we beat - let's check out the next series with them.

    I am so glad to read this. The prior GMs get way to much blame and the current ones too much credit. Let's see this team get us to the WS before they grade out as the best.

    I do not see Kiriloff contributing this year - although the heat of summer might be what he needs. What concerns me is whether this is going to ruin a promising career. Having gone through hip and knee replacements and back surgery I find arthritis finds those screws and parts quite quickly. I wanted to see what others said about recovery and found this on sports-health.com, " "How long does the pain last after wrist surgery? After the cast is removed, it's normal for the wrist to be stiff for 1 to 2 months. For some patients—such as those who are older, have osteoarthritis, or were victims of a high energy break such as from a car accident— this stiffness may last up to 2 years."

    Watching us in comparison with the approach of the Astros was an eye opener. I judge record against above 500 teams based on the record when we play them not what they might do when their players get healthy. Yes we can and should win the division, but I am looking at what tier we will be in. Buxton is playing in 19 of 30 games and he is the catalyst. We do not have an Ace - sorry Joe Ryan, you are really good but not a top flight starter and we need to have that stopper in the rotation in the playoffs. I am currently reading Brothers in Arms - the history of Dodger pitching and seeing their history of great pitchers is amazing. The Astros showed amazing patience at the plate to throw Ryan off his game. They stole bases, they advanced, hit and run, and still do HRs and hits with less Ks. I hope our team took note, especially the young guys who I hope will continue to advance with experience.

    To judge the pitchers we have to judge the opposition - How have we done when we faced the Dodgers and Astros versus the A's, Orioles, Tigers, Royals, and at the time slumping and injured White Sox? If we can only beat the bad teams what is our chance in the playoffs? I need to see more to judge, but lucky for the Twins the May schedule after the Astros looks like it is filled with teams on the bottom.

    I was confused by one thing tonight - a team that regularly pulls its SP early let a struggling Ryan in for one inning too long, like the Bundy decision last week I wonder what the reason is?

    The school was in session - Verlander showed Ryan what a great pitcher does. In fact, he showed the statheads what is important - it is not Ks - it is outs. Great game. and the lineup waited for good pitches. They were patient and productive - like the Dodgers this is an important lesson. For the managers - stolen bases and hit and run still works. What a game - thanks Astros. Like the Dodgers they taught the lesson of quality play.

    I am fine with someone who does not have the steamy fastball. Does anyone remember Stu Miller? He pitched 16 years and had 27 WAR. The 165 pound Miller is most famous for being blown off the mound in the all-star game and was charged with a balk. "His fastball only topped out in the 80-mph range, but Miller relied on a deceptive delivery to get batters out. "He was the epitome of an off-speed pitcher, but he could get people out," teammate Eddie Watt said of Miller." - wiki. Go Joe - RP is about deception and the best pens have diversity of styles.

    Each year we heard - loss of weight, new attitude, new adjustments, but in the end the long droughts really hurt the team. He did not learn. Instead he was enamored with statcast - how hard he hit the ball and how far - and never realized the HR that goes in the first row behind the bench counts as much as the one that leaves the stadium. I think he hears the complaints, he is aware, but so far the adjustments have not happened, but they could and maybe being released or traded will be the incentive to change. New voices might help him.

    Middle of the road is okay - he filled a role for SF which got him the nickname Late Night LaMonte. He had 18 HRs and an OPS of 808. I think the Giants are happy. That does not mean I think it is wrong that the Twins let him go, although I would have kept him over Jake Cave, but sometimes we can be blind to the talents we have. I wish LaMonte well and I think the Giants who won 107 games last year are satisfied with him.

    I will be waiting for the next reflection - can we count on Kiriloff? There are a lot of players knocking on the door and I worry that his physical limitations might cost him and the team the potential he had.

    Gordon reminds me of LaMonte Wade - we did not think him good enough, but ask the SF Giants what they think!

    I love these summaries. It appears that we have really dipped into the next level of prospects - except for a few pitchers and it is great to see another group coming up behind them.

    I will be shocked beyond belief. And what if Pagan pitches an inning in less that 28 pitches against a good team? Not sold.
