  1. Even KC can't patch up the punctured balloon that we rode into September. Best news - Wallner! I know many thought he would be another Sano, but his bat control is much better. No more Archer and Bundy - let's look at potentials instead.
  2. He is better than Gallo - he can hit doubles and singles too. So the answer to your question is yes, but why stop there.
  3. Wait a minute - What happened to the KC aspirin? They are supposed to cure out headache and bring joy to the Twin Fans. Why do we start Bundy - Big deal - he is a starter not a RP - two innings! Let's start pitchers who might be with us next year - I do not want or expect Bundy and Archer to be here so their time on the mound is a wasted opportunity to see a young player who might be.
  4. I am always in favor of promotions - the veterans we are bringing back or getting back do not give me the confidence I would like so find out who has the arm to get the job done.
  5. No more woe is me! The question is - what has the reload done to prepare us for 2023? Can we count on our injured to return and not be injured? Will Maeda, Mahle, and Paddock return as quality starters? Who catches and are they any good? Who takes Correa's place - Palacio? Is he really good enough? Are Kiriloff, Larnach, and Lewis going from injured prospect to production? Can this coaching staff take them where they want to go? Do we have a BP to cover all the innings that Rocco wants? Will Pagan and Lopez rise or sink, Will Duran continue his dominance? Can Alcala return as a high leverage reliever? Have we over used Jax? Can Thielbar continue? Who plays 1B? Arraez, Miranda, Kiriloff? Where does Sano go? Who do we trade and for whom? Who do we sign with Correa money? What prospect is ready to rise from the minors?
  6. And this is the exciting news we have waited all year to read? If we get the best choice we will trade it so what is the real value?
  7. Come on KC - make us feel good again, make us think we are better than we are. It is easy, because we want to be fooled.
  8. I hope we do not see him next year. He has had 1/2 year of success in his career - don't look for more.
  9. Nice game - we needed this - it does not put us back in the race - but it does allow us hope and pride. Ryan has really stepped up and has the potential to continue to be better. Wallner was expected to be Sano #2, but he is a much better hitter and willing to get singles to go with his HRs.
  10. A sad day - the Twins raised hopes against KC (who doesn't), but could not carry that success to a team that is above 500 or in first place. Big Hat posted How about teams in first place? I am too exhausted to look it up, but I know it is horrible. We are not ready for the playoffs, but hopefully our young players will have experience that will give us a better push next year. Like Bighat I think we could have used Steer. We have to hope Mahle can get over his arm issues because we really need pitching. I think Winder, Ober, Ryan, Gray will be good, if Mahle and Maeda come back and flash skill the rotation will be the best we have had in years. I know there is still games left, but with 16 games and a seven game deficit it means we have to have a 14 game winning streak to be close.
  11. This is great if we are going to start a frisbee league. Otherwise I like wins, innings, era...
  12. KC, KC, KC!!!! - perspective - the praise in the last series was fun, but misplaced. Against good teams we are a bad team. Varland did okay, not great, Wallner raises the question - why did we wait. If we go 17 - 0 Cleveland has to go 10 - 7 for us to win. How will that work out? Bieber worked 8 innings - Rocco did you happen to notice that? Cleveland had 2 batters under 249 BA - the Twins had 5. Game two has Sanchez batting 4 and Celestino 5, Palacios 7 and Hamilton 9. Have we given up?
  13. Too late. Too far behind and we will not win out and Cleveland is not going to have a big slump.
  14. I agree with the statement. Over used pen. Under valued starters. Yes there were errors but the biggest one was management of pitchers.
  15. Unfortunately his history says he may have just reverted to form. But let's hope not since we have them another year.
  16. I have felt like you for a while. This is not a time to play games with service time. If we think somebody can help us we need them. And Wallner seems to have a maturity that makes him a good candidate for a quick adjustment.
