  1. I agree, but I hope Alcala comes back strong and Moran develops to a solid reliever. Then there are the relievers in Fall League that I know nothing about.
  2. Could Martin the fill in for Lewis in the beginning of the season? Isola not catching and not hitting is too bad for a team that needs a second C. Other than Lewis and Julien this AFL group does not seem as good as some of the past selections.
  3. Tough choice (which is nice) because Miranda really did hold the lineup together and at times Ryan was the SP rotation all by himself. Add three rookies this good next year and we can stop worrying about FA signings.
  4. Right now the future does not look that promising, The idea that this FO can make the right decisions is not that apparent. Can we just follow the playoffs as long as the Guardians last and put off the anguish until later?
  5. We have gone from replacing Kyle Garlick to signing Aaron Judge - is this Garlick's replacement? If so I hope he can hold up his end of the bargain. When a team blows up like ours, when the season careens to a crashlanding I guess these are the things we have to dream about - it will be a long winter.
  6. The Guardians just won their series - can we send a video to the Twins - this is how you do it
  7. Those pitchers are complete unknowns for me. I will be interested in the notes that TD provides.
  8. He pitched low impact innings and often gave up at least a walk and a hit. No he is not to be trusted and if we lose another season with him it is on the FO. Cut bait, move on, let someone else unleash the mighty Pagan.
  9. Good humor - I will take the Cardinals because I have always liked them and there is something about Pujols on a championship team that feels right. I like the Mariners, but my heart is with the Blue Jays. I like having two birds at the top of the season.
  10. Miranda - yes, Wallner DH only, Lewis and Buxton have so much potential and so many injuries! Who is next - Contreras played himself off the 40 man. Palacios is a backup defensive specialist if we need it. Hamilton should be gone. It felt like there should be more on the list. Still wish we had Steer.
  11. There is a sense of arrogance that does not play well in Minnesota. Communicate and do so in a fan friendly and honest way. Don't tell us about Pagan's great pitches when he can't command them or close a game. Drop the duds - remember Colome? We have twice gotten a closer that took us down for the first half of the season. Fundamentals not analytics. I don't mind information, but keep it simple. From manager to FO we get this white wash when things go bad and that is not how we function. Step up and take the blame, step up and hold players accountable. We do not need a Billy Martin again, but we need some of his fire. Somehow this group of management experts just feels like they are too complacent - they might not be, but they need to show us. Take us along as the Team grows, don't hide when Lopez comes in and turns back to a pumpkin.
  12. Good for Luis - even though I wanted Judge to get the triple, I am delighted that my favorite Twin succeeded. Thanks for batting practice Chicago. I know this is a downer question, but how could we fall to 14 games behind in the Central when we were near first a short time ago? Glad for Varland - does he start for us next year?
  13. Berrios showed us that you can't judge a rookie by his first season. So the answer to the question is I have no idea who's going to do it. But I hope somebody steps forward. Ober surprise me and I'm willing to be surprised by another two or three pitchers.
  14. The Sox will finish 500 - the Twins... The only thing I was interested in was Winder. Sorry he had a bad game. I thought, going in to the season that he would pass Ober, which certainly isn't true.
  15. Talk to Tom Kelly about fundamentals. Talk to Molitor about running. Talk to Gardy about fan relations. Stop telling us the team really did well, despite losing - we all have eyes. Stop sticking with RP when they prove they are not good - Colombe, Pagan, Lopez...Start sticking with SP when they are going well. If the give up a hit in their last inning it does not mean they are done.
  16. Ober is a reminder of why we do not want more dumpster diving SP. We have enough young arms, and an almost full rotation of veterans with IL returnees. The only pitcher we should consider is that elusive number 1.
  17. I have no idea - who do we trade? Most trades have many many for one that reduces the 40 man. I do not see Hamilton, Leon, Sanchez coming back and wish that Pagan and Lopez weren't. But my faith in the FO decisions leaves me questioning which decisions will be made because they love the strong arm - Pagan, Lopez, Megill - which do nothing for me if they do not know how to pitch. All of us see Sano and Correa gone, and most want Bundy and Archer gone if we can bring in better (me included).
  18. I just do not have any enthusiasm for the end! My only useless complaint is that you Woods-Richardson had his act together as he proceeded and one more inning was due him after his 5th.
  19. I just watched May pitch to Rosario who flew out to Escobar who has two hits! Nice.
  20. I would choose Escobar. He may not be a glove whiz, but he is the most dependable of all those listed.
  21. I know that this is the time of year for reflection and thus I am caught up in my own questions for a team that has settled too questionably into the middle of the pack after a quick start that gave us too much hope in a lousy division. So here are my personal thoughts going forward: Is Correa gone or will the team heap some more money on top of the ridiculous one he was just paid for 2022? And if not who is the SS interim to Lewis and Lee? Palacios does not look like the answer, but another fill in SS could block Lewis and make him a CF again. Do we have the courage to rush Lee to the majors like Seattle did with Rodriguez? Is MLB going away from the years in the minors mantra? Gray and Ryan are set, but will the Twins dumpster dive or find one more high quality pitcher? Do Mahle, Maeda, and Paddock come back healthy? If so does that complete the rotation? Among the young SP Ober seems to have the highest position, but how do we rank Ober, Winder, Varland, Richardson? Is Balazovic still a top prospect? Will we keep Pagan and Lopez? Why? How do we build a BP that can hold up to Baldelli's usage? Can Kiriloff and Larnach make it through an entire season? If they can what is the OF? Who do we keep from Wallner, Larnach, Kiriloff, Celestino, Kepler, Cave, Gordon, Buxton (of course), Contreras? Are we bound to keep Leon as backup catcher? Is it time to shop Polanco? Can an infield of Miranda, Palacios, Arraez, Kiriloff field? Who is going to teach our players how to run the bases? Does Wallner get the iron glove award or is there another challenger? Who becomes the next pitching coach? Why to we have a bench coach? Is Tingler the right guy? Is there a big trade coming to clear some of the logjams? What is the expectation for the Central division next year? Will it still stink or is it rising? And will the Guardians still be the top team? Finally, what is a good expectation for the Twins next year? Are we 500 or more?
  22. Sloppy play! Not going out on a high note. Vanimal's note with the Gleeman summary of the season records is eye opening. Wallner is playing himself into DH. Bundy is perfect for a 500 team, not what we want if the playoffs are in our mind. I am still rooting for Judge. Arraez had a slump that carried through the critical period of the season and is hitting well and happy when the pressure is off. I really like him, but I am not excited about him getting the BA title.
  23. Joe Ryan now has 13 wins - I like wins, it means that a pitcher stays around long enough to control the outcome. I don't count reliever wins, but this is not a worthless stat. Joe has been our go to guy and hopefully he improves enough by next year to impact the team against the winning teams. I am happy that we have KC and Detroit to make us feel better. Think if we substitute Baltimore and Boston - the bottom of the East! Why is Bundy still starting? Minor league season is over, get a rookie up here.
  24. Good bye, thanks for coming to visit and bringing some quality to the table. I applaud the Twins for getting him, I wish him good luck, but I think there will be a lot of buyer remorse in the SS long term high dollar contracts. Remember how most felt about Donaldson and his contract after the first year? We were glad to dump it. SS do not age well at their positions. And neither do pitchers. I am sure that Dodgers are tired of paying David Price, the Red Sox have gotten nothing but injuries from Sales and below expectation production plus injuries from Story who played second - not SS. Look at the expectations and then production the Tigers got out of Javy Baez~! Marcus Semien moved to 2B - is his value as great there? Fernando Tatis looks like he is just as injured by the burden of so much money as he is physically. I just think BB has to adjust their thinking. I did like Correa's contract, but wish it could have been 2 years then opt out instead of one, but that might be the model the Twins have to follow. Meanwhile SS is waiting for Lewis and Lee, and our current fill ins are not good enough. But can we wait or do we make another move for someone to fill in and if so how does that work with the young guys are ready? Can we over pay a good SP like we did Correa? That might be our new strategy, lots of money, but not a long term commitment.
