    eh, the team will probably regress to 97 wins, and make it out of the first round of the playoffs. So much for sustainable success!

    A rookie manager who walked into a clubhouse that didn't know him, beset by injuries to players, a patch-work pitching staff yet 101 wins. Yeah, he done good.

    Weren't there rumors of the FO approaching Buxton about buying out some of Buxton's arbitration years, similar to the contracts of Polanco and Kepler and Buxton turning the Twins down? I don't see where Buxton really has a gripe, because if it's true, he would have been paid a lot of money for playing in Triple A ball.

    Why limit Mr. Garver to singles? Looks to me like Mr. Garver is able to do more than hit singles.

    I think it's a good question and I have no idea what the answer may be. It's kind of funny, but how much has the new FO raised the bar of expectations of this off-season with the success of this last season? "Victim of their own success" might be an apt description.

    I was thinking in term of a FA acquisition by the Twins over keeping Cron. I think the Twins may be a little too much "station to station" as currently constructed. Whether there's a player available that fits the bill, I have no idea. More along the lines of something I think the FO should keep in mind. However, since I haven't recently slept at Holiday Inn, nor put together a team that won a 101 games in the regular season, you can guess what my opinion may be worth. Great response, by the way, thank you.

    One part of me would really like to see CJ Cron come back, the other has reluctantly concluded the team needs to add some speed on the base paths. When the bats aren't working, the Twins need to find a way to manufacture runs. If CJ Cron has to be sacrificed for more team speed then so be it.

    As I've posted elsewhere, FA pitching acquisitions need one thing on their resume: Good numbers against the Yankees. Jake Odorizzi falls into this category, believe it or not. Great season and I hope the FO looks at this season as something to build on.

    Initially, I had the same reaction, after all, Twins fan bias, but, after thinking for a bit, realized I needed to take a bit a see what develops. Sort of a metaphor for the entire Twins season.

    The Twins are doing what they should do, and look to see if anything was wrong on the Giants side of the trade. If the shoe were on the other foot, and the Giants had been on the receiving end, they would be doing the same. It would be negligent on the part of all parties involved not to make sure everything was done in the proper manner.
