  1. This small addition also improves the bullpen if he can just allow the bullpen to get more rest between outings
  2. I was unable to find the page to enter the sweepstakes. I'm glad it's not April first or I'd think I'd been had...
  3. Agree in a perfect world but our biggest trade chips are MLB or close to MLB ready players if we're going to trade for starting pitching. We're going to have to be ok with trading Polanco or Gordon and one of the OF if talks are even gonna start
  4. I completely get this response and tend to agree but Granite has forced his way up and now we need to make room for him possibly permanently. If he proves he can hit MLB pitching, Trading Rosario is one option and the other is trading Grossman. With our need for so many pitchers in the BP, we cannot afford 5 outfielders can we?
  5. Kinzler: Some of TRs dumpster dives worked and that's why all GMs do it... (And, yes I know the ratio of those that work vs don't work is a bad ratio but ALL GMs do it)
  6. Isn't the oldest 24/Vadim? Seems this GCL squad has more than usual older players... Is that true or my misperception? In any case, thank you for the run down,
  7. Its also possible that some of the help has already arrived in the forms of Busenitz and Hildenberg. These rookie bullpen arms may have some ups and downs but they may show long term success with some good coaching, managerial usage, and some patience.
  8. 29 signed which is a very high number... Sign that Falvine are clearing MiLB chaff? Doubt any HS kids will be signed... This may be our final list. Just add $ signs behind the names listed.
  9. Barnes 450,000Contreras 10,000 Sammons 10,000 Faucher 10,000 All listed as signed http://m.mlb.com/news/article/237042574/2017-draft-signing-and-bonus-tracker/
  10. Of all the DFA'd by other club signings this year, this one is the best... That doesn't say a whole lot but it's not Wilk...
  11. If I were you, I would make threats less of a habit... Seriously though, I wonder if a short wake up call might help. Does he have options? If so, maybe a brief trip to Rochester would tell him how important it is to keep your head in the game. The kid is 25. He still has time to learn. I would much rather have an intelligent, experienced, wiser Rosario on our team than going the likes of Go Go Gomez or Aaron Hicks. I love Granite as a fourth outfielder but I would like more power from left than Granite has long term. Short term for a wake up call... I'm down with that
  12. First, let me say that I weighted this with what I consider likliehood of contributing at the MLB level EVER so the farther from the majors, the lower they drop on this ranking vs talent/potential as the second, not the first factor. I also placed a lot of weight on current health and performance so my list may really look whacked out and is likely to get hammered but I dont care. GORDON ROMERO (Beats Gonsalves by health) GONSALVES LEWIS WADE ROOKER BUSENITZ R. ROSARIO PALKA KIRRILOFF (Right behind Wade if he had been healthy...maybe even in front) GRANITE (Closeness to majors and uique base stealing skills a big deal here) PALACIOS ENLOW HILDENBERGER DIAZ JAVIER If I redo this in an hour, I would probably change a lot...Past Gordon, I dont think there is cant miss talent. Too many really talented people in the low minors that may fizzle like we have seen too many times (Stewart, Jay, Harrison) and role players in the high minors that will probably make it but not perenial all stars. Romero has the best potential to blow us away in the near term but he has not quite done that yet for me.
  13. Wow. The signing tracker shows that we have 19 agreed already with 5 from the top ten rounds unsigned. If we sign those five, which normally you expect to get all top 10 rounds signed, that will be 24 plus there are two Seniors unsigned, that would make 26...we might know our whole list of draft signings already...
  14. I don't get why he hasn't gotten a chance yet. Nice article on not just Busenitz, but several relievers that are doing very well. (Some like Busenitz are not yet adoppted
  15. Carlson is a RHP..reading between the lines, I think what you would like is college starter.
  16. Palacios has been an underrated prospect mostly because of his injury plagued 2016 and him still being in the lower levels in the minors. This is his second "breakout" season but he's in low A. His glove seems to be improving statistically but he's not going to really rise on the prospect lists until he continues this success in High A and remains healthy. For more on Jermaine Palacios his Adopt a Prospect page is here: http://twinsdaily.com/topic/25706-jermaine-palacios-2017/
  17. We have to recognize that what was a thin pitching staff has been decimated by injuries to the MLB club and the MiLB reinforcements. Also, what everyone had expected to be a rebuilding .500 club has been better than expected despite the lack of starters and over extended relievers. Keeping the long view of 162 game baseball seasons, I'm just enjoying that were in first and that we have a legit lineup with good defense to build around.
  18. I think Busenitz should get a shot soon as well but you cannot argue against Wimmers and Rosario getting shots. Wimmers has worked his way up and had his first shot at the show last year. I would like to see him get an extended shot this time around and see if he can settle in. We just need a couple of these relievers to really come through at the next level.
  19. Wade has a habit of spending half a year at a level before promotion. I definitely can see him in AAA with a very outside shot at a Sept Cup of Coffee. I think that would take an injury, trades, or a whole team melt down but I think there is a possibility to see Wade in the Majors this year.
  20. I don't know if it is fair to say 4-5 starters. I don't see any 1's but I see potential 2-3's in the list. I think Mejia is most likely a 2-3 if he can gain the confidence to attack and not nibble. He has some nasty stuff that has left some of these MLB hitters shaking their heads. If the kid can put it together, he is not going to be an Ace but he is not a 4-5 either. If he does not put it together, he's not a 4-5. That's just how prospects work. We just gotta get used to young guys taking lumps early and learning (Now I'm talking about Berrios too...)
  21. Looking at the minors has been depressing this year because of the injuries. Gonsalves, Thorpe and Reed are getting back at it now but Burdi, Kirriloff, etc... Tough to keep reading about all these.
